I got "roto-rooter'd" today, going under anaesthesia is always dicey, or so they say (I've had a blessed life). If anyone has had it done, approximately how long before I can pick up a Thunderbass or return to practice. The Dr told me the next 10 days will be gnarly.

You guys need to do something about that. Much as I love my EPIs, nothing plays like a Gibson. Some come close though...

For those who've had a Babicz bridge on their Thunderbird for a while and have taken it off, have you found it's left some sort of impression? I may have just bought a black 2018 Thunderbird and am thinking of replacing the black hardware with nickel. I'm guessing a nickel Babicz would be more seamless than a Hipshot.

Whoa. Congrats! I removed the '15's once and don't remember it having left any marks. I think the Babicz looks better than the Hipshot. If you do it and intend to sell the black one, I'd be interested.

Yeah, I'm not ever going to the best, probably not even "good". But I like learning new bass-stuffs, and just having (what I consider) fun.


But! I like to use the same strings she uses! Maybe there's hope!

I'm still looking for the bass that magically makes me great. In the meantime, practice, practice, practice.

Mine did not. You also do not need the spacer installed. I contacted Babicz directly and was told it was for other models of Gibson basses with higher bridge heights.

Dudes a great singer and they're good songwriters. People may not dig their style, but the craft is pretty undeniable.

Totally agree! They're great live. And they'll actually talk to their fans after shows. Even an old guy like me.

Thanks gang, got the catheter out today, that sucked. Trying to lighten the moment, the nurse said "congratulations, it's a boy." Good thing she was super cute. 9 more days til I try to play my basses.

I'm not on Instagram, so I'm not seeing this, but I get the vibe. I had a That's it, I'm done moment when I saw a teenager effortlessly playing Rush basslines in a store. I'm hanging on by pride only.

For me it's the Sir Duke girl. One of the most watched covers ever on YouTube. I find it inspires more than makes me want to quit.

How do you survive?

Easily. We don't have Netflix or anything like that. We don't have cable TV, either. Neither my wife nor I have missed either one.
