Modern poly will take waaaay too long to yellow.
My 2012 is nitro. Do you mean the Epi version?

Yeah. I don't even think white is an option on Gibbies anyone. My 2012 is nitro. Do you mean the Epi version?
Mine tone knob is usually dimed out. I'm ordering a Fender TBX circuit and going to try that in place of a standard tone control. See it it makes a clarity & roundness difference.
I'm also ordering a set of EMG TBP (P-bass pick-up in a TB housing) when my Fender Jaguar sells (if it ever does).

That's like $1100 more than I paid for my Epi. >.<There's a 2012 Arctic White Firebird to the tune of $1700 sitting there, looking at me, at the L&M in Richmond...
Mine's white.Love the colour, but it NEEDS a black & silver pickguard. It's like a sea of white on the thing.
That's $1300 more than both my Epis. That's like $1100 more than I paid for my Epi. >.<
I got a favor to ask to those of you with a Mike Lull T-bass, or have T-bass pickups in your bird. can you please meeasure the mounting rings that go with the pickup. thanks in advance.
I am removing the tone knob and putting a on/off switch there. I dont use the tone knob at all on any of my basses.
Talking about unusual Birds, anyone notice this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/STONE-CITY-...S-/311019563724?pt=Guitar&hash=item486a35eacc
Kinda cool looking, but I wonder what it sounds like?
From my experience with Acrylic, it will be a beast. Acrylic is 2-3x as dense as wood. :SI wonder how much it weighs, I bet it is heavy. I like it though.

No, Epis are not Gibsons, but with Gibsons, ya really gotta get your eyes on it. I've seen some Gibson products (across their whole line) where the finish especially, but sometimes build quality were not good at all. GC in Hollywood had a multi-thousand dollar custom shop acoustic with a great custom paintjob....on the worst prep job I've ever seen.
That's kind of why I went for an Epi. The quality risks of a new Gib just don't seem worth the extra cost. From what I've read, the Classic IV is one of the most consistent & quality products Gibson has put out in the last 10-20 years. For sure. I wouldn't buy a modern one off the internet. I have to play it to know if it's right. The necks vary WILDLY from bass to bass, too. My 2012 'Bird has a very fast, very skinny neck. I played one once that had a sticky, kinda chunky neck. The finish on mine is top quality. My friend's 2006 was a bloody train-wreck.
