Beautiful! Is that yours? One of those is on my list.
I had one that looked just like it and while it was a beauty, it just never got played so off it went. The pic was off Google.

Sometimes they’re doing wheelies on your rug, and during thunderstorms they foolishly try to get atop your head. At least our long ago housemate’s did.
Yep. No worries at all. I sure wanted it to work. On paper it should have been the same, but in real life with ears it wasn't. Getting a demo TC Elc. Helix today. Very, very flexible. My SW rep said it would be a good option given what I want and it having so many options. He knows I'm shooting the 90 sound and told him they may be the safe thing--unless the new 90s do sound the same as the new 95s. I told him the Helix looked interesting as well and slightly recommended it. Looks cool from what I've read and seen on youboob. But most all reviews are guitar and they make phaser work easy with all those high freqs. Bass is a different matter and the 90 seems to work so well with bass. We'll see. May be sending it back as well.....Gotta love return policies! Sorry it didn’t work out, but I get it.

Does he do 'setups'?Good to know you still have that Canadian guy as your bass roadie. He seems knowledgeable and reliable.![]()
Given the pic, he may just carry stuff around for Scott. Every time I see the two of them together he's just holding something for Scott. Well, he may have to call him, Mr. Dasson.Does he do 'setups'?
Mr. Dasson is my dad lolGiven the pic, he may just carry stuff around for Scott. Every time I see the two of them together he's just holding something for Scott. Well, he may have to call him, Mr. Dasson.
But I'm just guessing it might have been a while since this roadie has done a setup.
The TonePrint stuff could get you where you need if it can't do it in stock form. I still think the Whirlwind is great. But it's closer to the original "script" version.Yep. No worries at all. I'm hoping. I heard on Toneprint that sounded like a 90, but we'll see. The Whirlwind sounded amazing in all the guitar videos. I'm just thinking 4 stage may help with bass, at least for me. Were it not for the Whirlwind being more of the script and subtle version I would have gone for that after looking around. The TonePrint stuff could get you where you need if it can't do it in stock form. Congrats! A competent tech should be able to replace the nut. So long as the truss rod works, you stole that Tbird. Hard to believe someone messed up an essentially brand new bass. Maybe @godofthunder59 knows of someone in your area you can take it to.I finally picked up my first Gibson Thunderbird:

It’s a 2019 Heritage Red Burst, picked up used at Guitar Center. It came with all of the case candy, including the picture after it was built. The build card shows it was made on 11/2018, but it’s stamped on the neck as a 2019 model.
I got it for $1200, but I think I know why it was so inexpensive (relatively). It plays very nice with a medium action, but the neck has a bit too much relief. When I took off the truss rod cover, I saw that the truss nut is rounded off, so I can’t add tension. I know a lot of you will probably say to just return it, I think I’m going to bring it to my local shop to have it looked at and see if they can take care of it. I really love how it sounds (loud and aggressive!), the neck feels great even though I normally prefer wider necks, and the bass feels like it weighs under 8lbs. I was shocked at how light it is compared to my P Bass.
Assuming my shop can sort out the truss rod nut, I’m probably going to swap the top hat knobs for Speed Knobs, and I also plan on swapping to a Supertone bridge. Thoughts on my plan for addressing the truss rod? And as always, thanks for taking a look!
