A little update on my thoughts about the new NR. The neck is beefy, reminds me of my first '68 NR. Nonreverse specs were all over the map , varying body thickness, body edge radius and neck profiles. The more I play the 2021 NR the more I like the neck. It is wider at the nut than a 60's NR and I do prefer a 1.5" width . I also sorted out the controls, this time Gibson thoughtfully provided enough slack in the wiring so I didn't have to break out the soldering gunDefinitely Gibson's best bird in a long long time. This upsets me two ways:
1. I am still waiting on mine, and
2. Hand rehab is going well, but not yet well enough to be able to play and appreciate it if 1. were solved.
It'll arrive the day after you're cleared to resume some playing, thus keeping you outta trouble.

I'm definitely putting my knobs inline, looks much cleaner.
Probably going to put a blend knob in.

Ya, I'm really digging mine a lot, haven't picked up any of the other Birds in two weeks or so........I really hope this leads to other "new" basses.
Regarding the neck, it's pedigree is obvious, for those who don't know, this is an EB4 from a couple years back.
Very cool color indeed. While not a 60s color of course, I'd love to see a TBird finished in this rare Holly Green that Gibson used on some 80s guitar models. Love this color with chrome hardware. Would suit a Bird nicely, imo.

I had strong dreams in high school of putting together a hunter or forest green Warmoth Flying V bass, back when they still offered that bass body style. I wanted dark green with a black pickguard and chrome hardware. Ebony or dark rosewood board. Alas, I never made such a thing happen. Ergonomically, though, that's probably for the best.
I'm seriously debating selling my EB when my T-Bird arrives.... It is one of the best playing basses I have owned, but I gots too many, the JMJ mustang is going for sure, but I'm debating painting it antigua before I sell it.

Good to know, that makes me all the more anxious to get mine.....
I hear that Scott’s roadie, (that Geddy guy) has a quaint little 3 piece band he dabbles in on the side. Maybe Scott can have him open for his Who tribute band someday.Good to know you still have that Canadian guy as your bass roadie. He seems knowledgeable and reliable.

It's a two phase phase IIRC, unlike the 90 which is 4. From what I've heard online it doesn't sound bad at all, but it doesn't sound like the 90. If it's only 2 phase it actually couldn't sound like it. But if you're in real life it sounds as good as a 90 or better, I'm open to anything. I don't really care what it's called or how it's made if it sounds as good or better than the 90.
