Was anxiously awaiting my new phaser this evening. Had nothing planned and was going to be able tweak (not twerk) and fiddle all evening. Then I got and opened my SW box and behold I ended up with a set of Fender guitar strings and Fast Fret........ No doubt somebody ended up with my demo Helix phaser. No trying it out this weekend and no telling how long before the guy sends it back and I might get it. Hummm. I guess I'll spend the evening with my NR. Oh, wait. Don't have that either!
The only ones I've contributed to are musicians trying to get enough to record and produce an EP or cd. There seems to be a lot of grifters these days.
Isn't that the truth about 99% of the time.
I feel for you. All I wanted to do this evening was play a Thunderbird. Just like last night and the preceding 143 days...

Fair enough.I respectfully disagree. PE has many successes that go unnoticed. But when a few go pear-shaped, there is plenty of publicity. Much like the way you don't hear about the thousands of uneventful plane landings daily; you only hear about the fireball. As a musical example, Gibson did a PE deal that dumped Henry J and have delivered new Thunderbirds that seem to be proving very popular...
I could wax philosophical about the three (four, maybe six, depending upon how you count) types of PE deals, their characteristics, and odds of success, but that might be off topic...

I feel for you. Phaser smazer--not playing bass all all for that long as got to be about as bad as the pain and discomfort of surgery. But since you can't play right now. Mind sending your JC? Just to keep it in good playing shape you understand.
I certainly hope you are not far off from being able to get back at it. I can only imagine how taxing it would be with all those basses and no way to play them. You could go Pete Townsend. That was once thought to be playing. But go buy a fender first if you give that a shot.
Between Scott and others here maybe they will buy all of them and we just won't have to worry about it for a while.

As for my JC, I loaned all my basses to a local "youth group" who had previously "borrowed" cars and sold some unregistered pharmaceuticals. They promised to return them when I ask. Strange that I say basses that look just like them in a pawn shop...

I got rid of my 2 flangers, I could get a better flangie sound with combinations of the envelope, octave and phaser.
I have a couple really nice chorus pedals, but I can’t seem to find a place for them. And one of them is one of the most expensive pedals I ever bought.
I just replaced my gargantuan 90’s Russian bassballs with the regular sized pedal, and I haven’t even plugged in to see how it compares…

I'm the opposite. Flangers never did anything for me, at least the few I tried. Chourses were the same. I even bought a nice Boss Bass Chorus and in a live setting it is useless to me and adds nothing. In fact I'm about ready to list it in the classifieds before long. Phasers just stand out in a good way with bass for my tastes for some reason and don't disappear in a live mix.

Nice! The phaser is what I use the most. Possibly 25% of the time. Sounds good on most slow songs. I have an EBS Octabass and use that once in a while. Also a BBE Sconic Maximizer (pedal) that stays on all the time. But it's not really an effect.

If I sold the tote full of pedals I don’t use I could probably get the Pelham and the Burgundy too…
