I tried hard to like The Police, in the end never really my cuppa. I'm the one that had day jobs so there's that.
 
Private equity involvement is almost never a good thing.
I respectfully disagree. PE has many successes that go unnoticed. But when a few go pear-shaped, there is plenty of publicity. Much like the way you don't hear about the thousands of uneventful plane landings daily; you only hear about the fireball. As a musical example, Gibson did a PE deal that dumped Henry J and have delivered new Thunderbirds that seem to be proving very popular...

I could wax philosophical about the three (four, maybe six, depending upon how you count) types of PE deals, their characteristics, and odds of success, but that might be off topic... ;)
