Thunderbird Club

The first picture is my bass. It’s Heritage Cherry Sunburst, which was only available on the 2019 basses, as far as I can tell. In person, the edges are more red than in the photo. It’s a really nice color, and a nice alternative to the standard sunburst option.
That’s a beautiful Thunderbird!

Nikki has a red Thunderbird too. But it isn’t the Natural Cherry.

I don't believe she's naturally blue, either.

I'm debating which Thunderbucker to put where. I have a 66n and a 66s. I'm thinking about putting the S by the neck and the N down by the bridge, since I use the bridge pickup as a balance tool and never by itself. The neck can be blowout powerful since there's a volume pot that can cool it off if need be. Or maybe I'll behave properly and put the N where it belongs and the S by the bridge.

Decisions, decisions! Balancing them isn't important to me at all.

On what basis are you opining upon her mental state? ;)

Are you soliciting opinions? If so, I concur - S at the neck and N at the bridge.

Skeptic. Certainly looks blue to me.

Don't think you can go wrong either way. When dealing with complex and nuanced aspects of a decision one thing I try to keep in mind and factor in is which coin I'm going to use to settle the matter.

Or he could do the logical thing. Get another Thunderbird and another set of Thunderbuckers and do the opposite to it what he does on the BMM. There. Problem solved.
There is some variability between thunderbirds and likely between pickups. By my math, we need at least 3 degrees of freedom, thus a need for an additional 3 thunderbirds and sets of pickups.

That’s a beauty, too. I know the “standard” colors are vintage sunburst and ebony, but it’d be nice if Gibson would throw in 1 or 2 additional colors into the rotation each year. They’d definitely sell. Look at how well the current non-reverse basses are doing. Just 1 person’s opinion!

One of many, methinks.
