Really? If you're playing often and using bright stainless steel strings, you're changing often. Common is three months. I can go about five on these.I feel like some people wouldn't get through that many strings in their lifetime.

That's a string order!
Great to hear! That sounds about like my impressions. How do you feel about the tension and feel of them? That's a string order!
So far I like them. I'm curious how they will sound in a live setting, but so far they seem to have a lot going for them. Some strings you can tell they won't work, but none of that with the SITs. The mids seem to be situated a little lower than Rotos so they seem to have a bigger tone. Clear, but nothing harsh at all.
I've seen some people brag about using stock strings for years. I guess it's a preference thing but I can't imagine the feeling of those strings being great.Really? Hah, yeah. And if you like dead-sounding strings, good for them.I've seen some people brag about using stock strings for years. I guess it's a preference thing but I can't imagine the feeling of those strings being great.
Rotos are the only SS I've played much lately and they have a gripyness similar to Rotos, but they don't seem to be as rough. (But I don't mind Rotos.) I'm sure some of that will fade with playing, if not I don't really care as it's not a problem. Basses where I can get nice low action I don't mind 105s, but on others I often prefer 100s. On the '06 I can get it nice and low (tomorrow maybe). I don't find them any more stiff than the typical set of those gauges, and given I can get them nice and low they will be just fine. Not even bad from the higher setup from Roto 100s. So far so good!Great to hear! That sounds about like my impressions. How do you feel about the tension and feel of them?
It was actually supposed to be five packs, but somehow the order got lost and SIT threw in an extra couple of packs.
I got mine from ebay (Specialitytraders.com). But I noticed later that Jason at FretNation has the best price on them.

That’s ok, 3 and 6 are overrated.It has been exactly 6 weeks since I had surgery……
And Monday, I picked up a bass just to see... I can play 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 and octave in the major scale. 3 and 6 I just can't generate enough pressure to fret the note yet.
.
On the topic of strings. What do you guys think about Ernie Ball cobalt? The packaging caught my eye and I might try a 45-100 set.
Holy balls those pyramids are expensive. They are actually half the cost of my current bass, to be fair it's just a SX VTG but still.I trash factory strings after I decide I like the bass.
Ernie Ball extra slinky roundwounds on fretless, and Pyramid Golds on fretted.
I have a couple other sets of flats but am slowly switching to pyramids

Well, unless I am playing a boogie woogie line, I rarely use a 6. The 3 is a bit more useful...That’s ok, 3 and 6 are overrated.
Seriously, Good to hear one of my favorite Canadians is recovering well.

Other's can confirm, but the rounds are horribly rough. The flats sound great--but they make my fingers hurt/ache after some playing. Not from being rough, but it the plutonium waste in them that causes the problem. On the topic of strings. What do you guys think about Ernie Ball cobalt? But will last over a decade, thus they are cheap!Holy balls those pyramids are expensive. They are actually half the cost of my current bass, to be fair it's just a SX VTG but still.
Standards so low that few can slither underneath...Other's can confirm, but the rounds are horribly rough. The flats sound great--but they make my fingers hurt/ache after some playing. Not from being rough, but it the plutonium waste in them that causes the problem.
Hence the Princess Fingers club. Very top drawer. We don't just let anybody in, in spite of having pretty low standards.
