Thunderbird Club

Other's can confirm, but the rounds are horribly rough. The flats sound great--but they make my fingers hurt/ache after some playing. Not from being rough, but it the plutonium waste in them that causes the problem.

Hence the Princess Fingers club. Very top drawer. We don't just let anybody in, in spite of having pretty low standards.

Standards so low that few can slither underneath...

Just like Gibson QC, I never knew there was a problem until I read about it on the interwebz…

I been playing my Danelectro with the extra slinky cobalt flats all evening and no noticeable nosebleeds..

Be careful. We don't want a run on Thunderbirds drying up supply and driving prices higher for all of us. Remember:
Quality is dodgy at best,
The headstock will fly off at the worst possible time, probably killing several "innocent" bystanders, and
They are a one trick pony.

Obviously that one trick is bludgeoning people to death with the weight.

So I’m researching the SIT strings.

I am aware there are different cores, and different materials but I never realized my beloved pyramid gold flats are nickel plated steel, as are my roundwound EB extra slinkies.

not sure what that means, or if I should care. Not even sure if I have tried stainless strings.

my string criteria is pretty loose, I recently deviated from my normal strings for the sole reason that they were pink.

In my opinion you should keep deviating. That bass looks amazing with those strings.

Don't you hate it when something is working perfectly well, then strangers on the internet convince you that you have been doing everything wrong?

Doesn't happen when you play (bass) with your lower extremities.* But weren't you mentioning about burning when peeing? No doubt cobalts are a possible cause.

(*I realize this can go horribly wrong.)

I got mine from ebay (Specialitytraders.com). But I noticed later that Jason at FretNation has the best price on them.

I feel like some people wouldn't get through that many strings in their lifetime.

fretnation didn’t have the NR4095L 40-95.

I found them for a good price on Amazon. I added a set to my wife’s cart, let’s see if she notices…

I think I still have 4 or 5 sets of eb extra slinky’s so that’s more than a lifetime supply….
