Thunderbird Club

Aw, thanks, my man. Moved to a new home, and just trying to get things in order. Both financially and with the accumulation of things I may or may not need….like 6 identical ebony Thunderbirds from the same year!
Well, feckanall. If you sell 'em, I want one! Just on account of the history and the quest. I don't even want a bicentennial Thunderbird, but yours have to stay in the family.

Y’all just playin the wrong Ric.

That's why I always wanted one. A Ric, not a cape. Until I went on a quest to find one and found they just weren't for me. Perfectly content with Thunderbirds.
I’ve never liked the Rics I’ve played in stores. But my MIJ Ric shaped object has a very articulate voice and a really comfortable neck. It’s become my go-to for jazz situations.
I should put RS66s on it and see if will get that CS tone, but the Dunlop Nickels that it came with still sound good.

Likewise, because of Geddy, I thought I wanted a ric. Took a beautiful fireglo one off the wall at L&M tried it for a minute or two and quickly learned that it isn't for me.

I was in a band playing keys, sax, and flute-and one song on bass. The bassist had a Ric, said I could use it. Tried it, thanked him, and used my 66 EB-3(hadn't bought my TBird yet).

:roflmao:

I'm still rocking my iPhone 8 Plus.

Remember when the 8 was THEE phone to have?

:roflmao:

I may upgrade soon but they named the new one the 13... call me superstitious but...

my old phone died a couple weeks ago, and I got my wife’s old phone that had been sitting in a drawer for a two or three years…. Ready for it….

I got me a iPhone 6s…

had to get the battery replaced, but I’m hoping to get 2 more years out of it…

I had one for a while. They are likely the most "different" feeling basses I've ever played. Never found them comfortable, but thought I'd get used to it. Kept it a couple of years and traded it to a Ric guy and got this and some money. Without question one of the best deals I've ever made.

Yeah. And I got it new! I useally used a hand me down when the wife or kids upgraded. This one still works so I'll keep using it until the battery just won't hold a charge.

I actually watched the Keynote the other day for the first time in years. The camera in the new Pro phone is incredible. But I need a new iPad. The charging port on the one I got three years ago went out. It'll cost more to fix than its worth. First time I've ever had an Apple product fail like that. I'm using a six or seven year old one we had in a drawer until hopefully I get a new one for Christmas (I spent way too much on my amp and new Thunderbird this year - totally worth it). IOS is all we've used for our personal stuff for years now. Works fine.

I was always replacing my phone every couple of years and handing down my old ones to the kids. They now have the better phones, at their own expense and have no use for my old hand me down which is probably the real reason I haven't upgraded. Mine works fine and with me paying for 5 phone plans(me, wife and 3 kids), it's expensive enough without a new phone to pay off. $212 a month with my GM discount.
