Get the Hipshot parts from Hipshot, or make sure they're the USA-made versions. Some people have had QC problems with the licensed parts manufactured elsewhere. (I find that odd given the tech available all around the world, but there it is).

I have at least 3 sets of the LIC versions and haven’t had any issues.

I've enjoyed that drive a few times coming back from the Bay Area when I wasn't in a hurry. A hidden gem.

Something just struck me as odd. I’m sitting here playing my 2015 T-bird. You know, the one with the factory Babicz bridge. It occurred to me that the Babicz bridge was designed to be an aftermarket solution to “fix” the factory 3-point bridge that many folks complain about. It seems odd to me that Gibson entered into a (potentially expensive) agreement with Babicz to outfit the 2015 T-birds with that bridge, when it would’ve likely been much less expensive to have outfitted it with the same basic TuneOMatic bridge that’s on the Epiphone Vintage Pros. Can anyone provide any insight into why Gibson went with the Babicz instead of using the old tried and true system from the original 1960’s T-birds?

They used the Babicz '15 - '17 and stopped around the time Babicz went to offshore production.

I'm a little confused. I've heard the stock 3 points are absolutely terrible and to immediately switch to a Hipshot but you're saying their good right? I don't really understand these bridges that well.

They're fine. I prefer the Babicz for more adjustability of the string height and intonation. Many don't mind the three-point. They're not that bad once you know how to set them up. It just takes a bit of patience while learning how to set them up. I currently have four Thunderbirds with the three point, two with the Babicz, one with the Hipshot and one with the two point.
