Good is good, I don't care what bass you play.......My Monday AM Smithereens fix before work starts.
No autotune, no tapes, no BS, no pretension, I love this band!

Turn it up a little bit.

I kinda like starting my Monday morning with a bit of this…

…clears out the Monday morning cobwebs and is a good replacement for caffeine, plus plenty of eye candy (Spector, my favorite non Gibson brand).

Chucky,
I’m sporting boomers on my Greco IV right now. All I can say is, you better glue down everything in the house! Tons more bottom end but in a buzz saw kind of way and a bit less top end, played with the tone rolled off and the volume rolled up you’ll likely shake your house loose from the foundation. E thru D strings sound phenomenal, the G string sounds kinda thin by comparison, but to be honest just about every other string I’ve tried on the Greco sounds thin compared to this set. And for heavens sake, use that claw!

Sure, you can...... but I'm going to be standing over there, somewhere far away :rollno:

Yeah, I've seen a bunch of stuff that's so unsafe, it just makes you want to start running :nailbiting:

The worst kind were the "new, improved" safety procedures that made things worse, or were actively dangerous because the people thinking them up were not only idiots, but also had no idea of the things they were trying to make rules for.

Kinda like trying to make safety rules for motorcycles, for example, when you've only seen pictures, and your closest experience is roller skating
same here, (great post btw), people will do crazy things to save a buck….i would go as far to say that Osha would have a field day with many entities one would consider “compliant” and/or “by the book”………”we take employee safety seriously around here!…..huh?! SIL rating? what’s that?”….

Yep. My mother used to supervise a large trust dept and reported to one Sr VP. No college, worked her way up since getting out of HS. Supervised tax attorneys and CPAs and timed payments of clients who had million dollar plus tax bills (yes the rich do pay taxes--a lot). At some point the smart people decided a CPA/VP needed to be in between her and the Sr VP to be the "supervisor" of that dept. The new lady never took over anything mom did other than every one answered to her. Mom was still doing the actual supervising, but they were now paying for a person to with a degree to supervise my mother who was doing this when the CPA was in middle school. As I've said before, small companies can't be run as foolish as large companies or they'd be out of business. So I believe there is truth in you comment about Gibson, who makes Thunderbirds.
that sucks….seems like you need a Masters degree to turn a screw these days….too bad, real can of worms……that said, many a time i have seen a HAM (amateur radio operator) embarrass a PhD in electromagnetics…..

For some extra sweet low end and a little less top end, the Round Core Boomers are great.

LOL - anytime “but” or “and” is used in a sentence whatever comes after it is always the most important point being made.

example: Nice bridge ya got there Chuck, but you should try using the claw. ;)

Not sure if I got the hex or round core roundwounds. The stinger doesn’t look perfectly round so I probably have the hex cores, doesn’t say on the package what it is. I do like em! They sound especially good run through the claw.;):roflmao:

Youse guys keep that up, it'll stick in Chucky's craw...er, claw...One o' those.

I think it's called GLX-D. One of the guitarists I play with has absolute radar ears, and he tried everything else before getting one. Now he's happy being wireless. The downside is that it's got a pretty big transmitter, but that's OK with me, since I just clip it to the strap when I'm playing the 'Bird or a guit-box, or to the bow holster when I'm playing the upright. It's perfect for the upright, since the receiver doubles as a tuner, and I can step on it, tune between songs, and be back on immediately without adding any more stuff to the board. Plus, the transmitter recharges by USB, and a charge lasts for hours and hours. I have never managed to run out of power, even though I have forgotten to recharge it several times.

The downside is that it's not exactly cheap.

Guessing that's the GLXD16 (octagonal receiver)?
