Thunderbird Club

Well, Scott and I go back quite a ways, to The DudePit and Last Bass Outpost, he's the real deal for sure. We've chatted on the phone and in many ways are like brothers of a different Mother, he makes this a great place to hang out and share everything Thunderbird related.
and manufacturers top quality badazz TBird replacement parts :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Wandering around my local L&M last night. There is a GK 410 for C$199. The rat fur looks dirty, as does the rest. But, for that price... If I could think of a use for it, it would be paid for and waiting for me to pick it up.

Is that the Burlington store? That's the store that started my addiction to gear. I had never been to an L&M until then. We lived in Dundas for my wife to attend Mac. Awesome area and that store had some really nice people working there. They helped a noob, like me, get set up with my first Thunderbird! I'd hate to see what I've spent in that chain over the years. My wife laughs that I always seem to have a payment to them every month!!!

A band I'm really glad I got to see on this tour, the late ( under appreciated) "Steamin' Steve Clark and his Firebird, Rick Savage with a Hamer Scarab as well. I caugth them at the Tacoma Dome, Tesla opened for them with Brian Wheat playing one of his Thunderbirds that night.

That was a great show! I saw the same tour in Edmonton. I still have that same white t-shirt that Joe Elliott is wearing in the video. I think I wore out three Hysteria cassettes in high school! :D

…sorry for the confusion, Freud sends his regards…
…it was the post of @godofthunder59 concerning the new Gibson Thunderbird pickups…
…@Dadagoboi used to install Thunderbuckers for his Cataldos…
I'm a very proud endorser of Steve Soar's Thunderbuckers, hands down my favorite replacement Thunderbird pickup

That was a good show and pairing of bands, I'd forgotten how much I like Steve Clark.

That's great! I hope they not only get back to you, but do so with some interest in your project. What they do as far as trying to replicate vintage pickups is unique to my knowledge. Most everyone goes and gets the same "kind" of wire, etc, they try to replicate the wire magnates and after it's 50 yrs old and vintage, not just having the same kind. That's close, not not the same thing as trying to get wire and magnets that replicate those with great age not just be the same kind of wire and magnets. I never read of anyone doing it the way they do. Maybe they just word what they do better, but I love my PU from them. If I needed a vintage P or J (or guitar PU) they would be the first place I would look and almost certainly end up with one.

Here's how they word it for the Pbass PUs I ordered and am thrilled with. Aged them for we as well.
- Magnets, Our Epic Series 1962 Pickups use Original Fender Alloy Alnico 5 Magnets From 1962. We sent Original magnets from a 1962 pickup to an Independent Laboratory for Metallurgical Chemical Analysis Testing. We then contracted direct with our magnet manufacturer to get the Alnico 5 magnets Specially Poured to the exact composition of the Originals. We are the only manufacturer who offers this. Pure, Sweet, and Authentic Tone.

- Wire, our 42ga Plain Enamel wire is not just stock wire. We have sent dozens of samples of wire from early Precisions for analysis. We get our 42ga Plain Enamel built to the exact specs of the samples we have had analyzed. Exact Resistance, Exact ID & OD, & Color matching. Our 42ga Plain Enamel Wire is the most authentic and accurate Magnet Wire Available. As Authentic as it can possibly get.

Now why did you have to go and tell about that P pickup.

Yep. They moved recently. The new location is more convenient to the QEW.

The staff has little turn-over so probably many of the same people still there.
