Thunderbird Club

Sounds better than a Ric! If my Ric sounded like that, I would have kept it! What strings were you using? I'd like to go back and listen again with earbuds it sounded so good. But tell those cats in the front to cool it and let the bass have more space!:D
Strings are Dunlop nickel rounds 45-105. They came on the bass and they are so nice on that bass, I texted the guy that sold me the bass months later to find out what they were.
Recording was done using the DI out of my D800+ and a mic on the 210AV cab. I wasn’t involved with any of the setup or mixing, but I’m pretty happy with how it sounds.

Thunderbird Thursday already?! :jawdrop:

I guess this week, it'll be the last bass standing (or will be the last one, once the others are sold  ):

Had to put a like on the post for a great pic of a great bass, but did I read correctly that you might be off loading all the others.
If so, so sorry to hear that, hope all is ok, or we’ll be soon.

Thunderbird Thursday..it’s a 70’s kind of day.

hard to like, related to the truck driver shortage?

Indirectly, I guess? I'm anticipating a possible need for some extra $$ before the end of the year, trying to get ahead of that.....

You are selling your others? Say it ain't so!

Yeah, as soon as I can get prep work, pictures, & packaging squared away, everything but the Pro 5 (and maybe the AEB) is gonna get put up for sale. :(
Probably in a couple of weeks, or so.

It's not a "I need to sell yesterday" sort of thing, trying to get it done before it gets to that point....

Well, shoot. Sorry to hear it. I hope all's well and that this isn't a semi-forced sale due to disaster.

Dang! Sorry to hear that. I'd guess there are some club members who'd be interested.

It’s Thunderbird Thursday so I’ll ask a thunderbird related question for a change.
I’m considering a three pickup layout for the “Bling Bird” build but would like to limit the control knobs to just three. I have a two pup ‘62 Jazz bass with two stacked knobs (separate volume/tone stack for each pup). And was wondering - has anybody done this control method for a three pup bass?

Not really disaster, per se, but the 'birds aren't the only things that are going.

And, there's always the possibility that I'm over-preparing, but that's better than under-preparing, ime

Hope you are ok - sounds a bit ominous...

So this weel I finally got my hands on an Epi Thunderbird (Vintage Pro/60s whatever) and it was great!!!

I don't have the money right now, but I will eventually own one! I did however notice that true to the pictures I have seen, the headstock is quote large. Even larger than I remember it being on the Greco I used to own.

So I was wondering.
Would it be possible/worth the effort resizing it? I was thinking plugging the holes for tuners and then reintroducing the ferrule (not native english, so application might be wrong) around the headstock.
I have seen similar done to an Epi Ajck Casady - given that seems a simpler task.

This wouldn't be done by me. I have 10 thumbs.
