FedEx could screw up an iron ball with a rubber hammer these days. They have done that to me a couple times. It was cymbals, not a 'Bird, so not quite to bad. But still frustrating.
For now, FedEx shipping means it will be late.

Don’t fret, FedEx hasn’t sufficiently damaged your package yet. Sometimes it takes them an extra day or two to get through the double boxing and Bass case. Had you ordered it without the hard case you’d already have it by now.
This showed up at my friend/tech's house today. He tracked it until he found the real seller. He was able to score it for several hundred less than the non-owners were listing it for. He said it arrived with a perfect setup and needed nothing out of the box. He said it is super growly and aggressive. And yes, that is gold hardware, including the pickup.

OK ok I can't hold back the ask anymore! This is built around a Curtis Novak Tbird pickup wired like a PBass but with a Tbird correct 500k over 250K concentric. The Chickenhead goes like this Just the PU, the PU and a Novak EB choke and a black ice battery free overdrive. I really wanted a Thunderbird II but I can't afford on like that black and gold beauty in post #188066. Can I be part of your club?

I’ve considered the black ice option in a few Tbird bass mods I’ve done in the past but wasn’t sure how it would sound. How do you like yours? Any sound clips featuring that item?

That is my friends Greco that just arrived from Japan. I am HOPING it will be mine someday.
Mine is a model IV:
Tbird pup in a Gibby shaped body and a desire to maybe someday be the proud owner of a Tbird in addition to the creative SG/EB custom build - sounds close enough to me. Besides, IIRC I think we already have a sweet looking Jazz or P bass build with dual Tbird pups in the club, with the logic that the owner wanted that unmistakable Tbird sound and vibe but couldn’t get on with the ergonomics.I'm ok with it, let's see what the guys say.
As you already know, they are worth the wait. The problem will be convincing him it just isn’t right for him.
