Thunderbird Club

Love this, it may be 8 minutes of the same lick but that guy and his Bird are really driving that song, big wide groove there! I'd love to play this live with a bit more clank like the studio version has.
Thanks Ken!
Bet he was like "whew" every time they went to the chorus.

looking at it that way makes perfect sense….my brother in law is from Pasadena and saw them at a few backyard parties in the 70’s and was saying it was REALLY entertaining in every sense lol..
I would imagine. DLR is kind of like P.T. Barnum but looked more like Brittany Spears after a bad night or month.:D But if ever there was a natural frontman, it was DLR.

(To avoid any incorrect thinking of attraction to DLR, Brittany would still look better under any circumstance I can imagine that DLR.)

I started playing to maintain movement in my fingers to abate the ravages of osteoarthritis. It was that or take up knitting...

Some of those very repetitive songs are good. They incorporate some brain training for me - learning to do something and being able to repeat it mindlessly. Sort of like posting pictures of watermelons.
So you really chose bass because the TalkKnitting Forum was a little too racy compared to TB? :D

Have you seen DLR lately?

If Brittney Spears played her cards right, she could have me. DLR, not so much.

That video reminds me of the one and only bass lesson I took. I had a Jazz bass at the time and so did the instructor. He insisted that I raise my strap up until the bass body was nearly in my armpit and that I contort my right wrist over the arm contour to play the strings like some kind of freakish preying mantis creature. Decided right then and there, lessons weren’t for me. :rollno:

I can understand having the bass at the same height as when you are sitting with it, but higher?

That’s about where my strap length is set (roughly the same sitting as standing, maybe a tad lower). This guy kinda sums it up nicely…

I’m not a fan of this at all…

And I don’t really fall into this camp either…
