Yep. I think the 60s versions were pre-cracked at the factory. This and the old Thunderbird both have a corner crack that is all the way through, but somehow are still there.I see the PG is cracked in the usual place.

on and off?Yeah, that thing came and went depending on my mood.![]()
whole lotta bass guitar right there..
While working I just listened to Foreigner's, first album for the first time in years. Wow! I forgot how great that album was. No songs are filler or throwaways. Amazon Music has the demo of "Feels Like the First Time." It really shows how you can have the bones of a good song and having a good producer and engineer can take a good song and make it great. Of all the artists in the R&R Hall of Fame, I can't believe they aren't. I don't put much stock in such things, but that's always been something of a head scratcher. But so are some that are in there....![]()
Here’s the Pawn Shop scene where a 1979 Thunderbird is sold by a bass player that bought it in Nashville. I guess that doesn’t mean he’s from Nashville but maybe he is…
@dukeorock, do you know this guy?
He so likes look the man.
But don’t think he’d off a ‘79.
Not OUR, man.
I was shocked when I kept hearing the next great song come on, one right after another. Shoot, I think some of the songs are as good as any of their hits. Well worth giving that record a spin again. I got to see them in 1978. Good show from what I recall. The first Foreigner album was packed with good music, at least according to my 13 year old self. I haven't listened to it in ages but I remember that it was not uncommon to hear "deep cuts" from that album played on the radio.

At lunch I quickly recorded the Helix and Phase 90. This was with the white VP with new Boomers. On the recording the Helix sounds a little different but good. In person the 90 sounds better. Better being subjective.
With pick. Helix is first.
Fingers. Phase 90 first. In this one the Helix sounds too fast, which I didn't notice while playing. Not sure if it's just the recording via ipad or what.
In person you notice some extra depth and dementionality from the Phase 90 that the ipad recording doesn't capture. The real test is a live setting. At times some settings sound great at home but disappear live.
Thanks. Both do sound much better in person, but the 90 just has something special going on that the crappy recording doesn't capture.I’m diggin every aspect of it!

Fun fact, at least for me. About 30 years ago I was working the door for a small club in Greenwich Village. For some reason there was a group of rock stars' kids there, including Sean Lennon. Afterwards, Mick Jones' kid invited me to hang with them back at his place. I don't think Sean came back, but damn was Mick's apartment on the Upper West Side gorgeous. He wasn't there. Really nice group of kids, thoughThe first Foreigner album was packed with good music, at least according to my 13 year old self. That’s funny, I quit Blue Steel for the same reason. Dead D string.I switched to Blue Steels when I started getting dead E string from Rotosound, they fixed that problem though.
