And on a kinder and gentler note…

Still lovin the Boomers on this beast. Might try and record some stuff this weekend if I get a chance.

Good question - they are definitely SS. There is a slanted chrome logo but no way to discern what it reads.
Well I don't feel so bad. I don't recall seeing any amps that look like that. They may have had a short life. For TV and even in a live concert, what you see on stage may not be what they are playing through.

There was a guy whose trade was as a tailor but he studied to become a Mohel. Didn't work out though. Out of force of habit he kept cutting on the bias.

(you have no idea how long I've been waiting for an opportunity to use that story).
:rollno: I can imagine it's not a story that one would use in a lot of situations.

I'm afraid something a bit out of my ability to control would have happened had I the opportunity to "press my body" against a girl for a few minutes.....:woot:
And that's a problem? As I recall, they kinda liked it back then. Or at least didn't object if they were willing to dance with you like that in the first place.

While working I just listened to Foreigner's, first album for the first time in years. Wow! I forgot how great that album was. No songs are filler or throwaways. Amazon Music has the demo of "Feels Like the First Time." It really shows how you can have the bones of a good song and having a good producer and engineer can take a good song and make it great. Of all the artists in the R&R Hall of Fame, I can't believe they aren't. I don't put much stock in such things, but that's always been something of a head scratcher. But so are some that are in there....o_O

Rodney Dangerfield came on to my mom at the Publix corner of Oakland and Federal…no joke…
I met him when he came to see a show(not ours)at the Marco Polo hotel, 192nd and Collins Ave. He was a large man; nice enuff to us-but we weren't 'fawning' over him. He was going out the back way from the auditorium to avoid the crowd. He was known for hitting on a lotta women, figuring that one might say yes.
At that gig the 67 still looked 'stock':

Thunderbird Thursday…
Sent this one back to GC last month - 11+ pounds was more of a butterball turkey than a thunderbird. By far the heaviest bird I’ve ever picked up. Didn’t open the control cavity to see if the previous owner filled it with lead weights to improve balance but if it required that level of correction I wouldn’t want it anyway.

Looking forward to getting my semi hollow bird back from Pat Wilkins next month. The unfinished body with an unfinished neck bolted in place and no other hardware, controls, strings, pups… weighed in at just a hair over six pounds. I’m hoping I can keep it below 9.5 pounds completed. Will be a challenge with a three pup layout (that adds about a pound right there).

Looks like I’ll be using the FrankenGoth as a test mule for pup placement and control options. The starting point will be a pup at the heel, one about 1.5 inches north of the bridge and one centered between the two. I’ll scoot em around from there to find the sweet spots or maybe even decide to can the triple idea and go with a duo or even a single. November will be the test month. December will be the install and rock it month. Should be an interesting journey.
