Thunderbird Club

Good evening Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. Just dropping in to say hello and wish all our service members a sincere thank you. Thanks as well for the good advice I received regarding the recent recital I played at. Essentially ad hoc bands of students perform for family and friends. They are great fun and the first time I had been near a stage in about 18 months. First time I have ever gigged or performed with my Thunderbird. Beyond pleased with her sound up loud. Several inquiries and compliments on the playing and the bass. Nothing else like her at this performance. I have to say after Steal my Kisses, I felt like Soulshine almost played itself. Great fun. Thanks again for the good advice and suggestions, much appreciated. Have a great evening folks.
Awesome!

It's still in pieces, I was just cleaning off the dust & wanted to see if that goop-looking stuff was for some kind of vibration dampening, or if something was leaking.
Figured if it was the latter, I could fix it before putting it back together....
I would set the voltmeter to DC, plug a speaker cable to the output and measure for DC at the far unterninated end. if under a volt (should be a few
milivolt) hook up a known good speaker and try it out…

White Castle - skillet scabs! Can’t say I miss the little buggers.
Never been to a White Castle. They weren't in S. FL. Only able to compare the frozen ones available at the grocery-unfavorably. At RC they were made to order on a flattop.
White Castle has in the past 6 months opened the largest WC in the world in Orlando. I tried to stop by. Wait was over an hour. Nope. Didn't have time to hang around as I was on my way to do this.

I kinda do. Those have their place. I was last in Ohio about eight years ago, before my parents moved west. My wife was with me, and we stopped off at a White Castle. She was prepared to be completely unimpressed, and she was. But she had to admit they were pretty good in their own awful way. I ate a bag of 'em, of course. That's what you do.

She went back.

That song could be about where I spent my childhood. It was a beautiful rural area then. About the time I left for college, the suburbs of Columbus were encroaching on the fields and meadows. In ten years, the whole area was engulfed in suburban sprawl of some of the most pretentious and awful kind. And there was no kind of town center anywhere in that sprawl. It has turned into LA with humidity in the summer and ice in the winter.

TBirds work anywhere imho…

Can't possibly be a Thunderbird. They just can't do that. :roflmao:
I've yet to find any style of music a Thunderbird can't fit into. As far as I'm concerned they are no more limited than any FSO. They are a one trick pony, and it's name is "Tone Monster," anytime, anyplace, anywhere.

Band I was in once got "paid" 144 White Castle hamburgers and a case of Budweiser. It was a very stinky ride home to Philadelphia from Northern New Jersey.........
You were lucky if there were no fatalities just from ingesting more than 6 of them. Eat 10 or more and you're ready for your colonoscopy the next day.

That was what I disliked about Silicon Valley - just a massive suburban sprawl. After 2 years, it was enough and having visited LA/Orange County/San Diego and seeing the same, to make the decision to leave permanent. I don't think I will ever live in California.

I have never been to White Castle and will never go. This documentary has me scared to death of the place.

I only tried it once to placate my Chicago born & raised friend who grew up eating there. I didn't really enjoy it - too much bread basically, aside from it being a relatively tasteless burger.

Chrissie Hynde absolutely owns any stage she's on.

I might have told this story here before, but I saw the Pretenders in Chicago in the '80s. Someone inflated a big ball/ballon and it was being batted around the audience while they played. It was very annoying really. It landed on the stage and Chrissy, mid song, grabbed it and threw it back stage like - grow up twerps, I'm the show here.

Yep, you ate at the WC Lounge.

Their fish and fries are better. During Lent that have crab cakes that are good, considering it's not a fish place.

They don't have them around here. Other than the three biggies, we have "In & Out Burgers" which are made when you order and not grabbed from pre-cooked stock like the rest. Their fries are just fries also - basic fried potatoes. Not fried in beef stock and whatever else McD's puts in their fries to make them "special" ~

We moved to our current town in ‘86. Generally a quiet, friendly place. Today the population is approaching 500K. Horrible. Can’t wait to move.

Saw them at the Santa Monica Civic on the first tour. It was love at first listen.

Well, I’m staying for family. If it were my decision alone, I’d leave for Scotland or Ireland.

Interesting. I had a comment the other day, would we consider incorporating in Ireland for the tax advantages. I replied that I would relocate to Ireland if that is what it took to seal the deal. I love Ireland; living in Dublin would be a treat.
