The Living End
It’s the way I enjoy listening. Always have. When I’m listening on Spotify, I’ll listen to a whole album and when it’s done, I’ll let the mix go until something interesting plays and then listen to that artist’s whole album (or ep). Discovered a lot of different music that way. I go down a lot of rabbit holes.@MCF Marshall, I’ve done the ‘whole album’ thing in the car since your comment the other day.
The Living End - the Singles
since I started watching the new Beatles thingy:
Let it Be and now Abbey Road.
Not working so well with multiple short trips, but still cool. It’ll work better in the commute days.
I discovered a lot of music using Microsoft's Groove Music service (don't look for it, it migrated to Spotify). I used the 'radio' function. Choose an artist or song and then based on what other users listened to in addition to that artist/song, it would choose songs. I liked it better than the Spotify radio function as the Microsoft service was always different; Spotify will always chose the same songs each time. It’s the way I enjoy listening. Always have. I think the referenced unraveling[1] is wrt string thru body use of of said EBCFs.Interesting. I currently have Cobalt Flats on a couple of basses and haven’t noticed any silk issues.
On a Goth Tbird (new strings installed and never removed, pic is current, strings are over a year old).

On a Les Paul Memphis (used strings from a previous Tbird installation, pic is current, strings were on one bass for several months then moved to this bass about two years ago).

What bird?I have a Bird with the strap buttons in a similar position to the D-Roc basses. I didn't think I would like it but decided to give it a shot. It balances very well and doesn't get in the way like I thought it would.

Or apparently if you play them hard.I think the referenced unraveling[1] is wrt string thru body use of of said EBCFs.
[1] as opposed to the unraveling evidenced by many of us in every post

Yikes! I can play pretty hard but haven’t managed that.

Does it still do the ‘tilt forward’ thing with the button there?
What bird?
(In a question cage)
Cobalt flats?
I had been thinking of getting a Squier Bass VI. I tried one and the E string was so floppy it really put me off it. You’d need to factor in new strings of 95 or 100 imo.Since I straddle the treble and base geetar world and my teacher once again suggested I get a Bass VI…
There are only two decent ones on the market and they are fugly as hell..
They do break easy when winding. I took out a D string that way. You’ve got to be ridiculously gentle with them. What bugs me is how damn stiff they are winding them on skinny Thunderbird tuner posts. I just put the set I have on the Goth. I kept thinking I was going to break one as I was winding them (and yes I follow the special installation instructions for them). It’s the third bass they’ve been on and they’ll stay on it ‘til until they die. I’ve had them on the ‘15 and didn’t like them on it. I tried them for a short time on an Ibby I have and they were terrible on it. To be fair, the only strings that make the tone of that Ibby bearable are Power Steels. I last tried Black Beauties on the Goth and never bonded with them. The Cobalt Flats sound grrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaat on the Goth. It’ll be my goto Thunderbird when I want to give my fingers a break from rounds. View attachment 4486402
Wow, never seen that before. Did that happen in normal use?
