Long time without posting anything... I'll just say that I am lucky to be here.

This time I bring you THUNDERBIRD pickups (still can't play my tbird yet).

I decided to cover 1st Hanoi Rocks album and this is the last song on it *applause*

I for one am glad you are still around, whatever the situation was.

There was a bar/pub in KC/MO that had the money pinned to the ceiling. Somebody explained how it was done; wrap the pinned-thru bill in a golf ball (? if I remember clearly...) or something that will fall back down to the floor when the 'unit' is tossed up there and it sticks,(most likely many attempts need to happen before one actually sticks) leaving only the bill pinned to the ceiling. I was never there when attempts were being made... I believe that would be an OSHA issue...

I've got DRs on only two of my Thunderbirds, atm. 45-125 neon reds on the Pro 5 "Woodbird", 65-125 DDTs on the Redbird (BEAD).

Stock strings on the VP, whatever those are.

Three have Rotosounds currently, all are 45-105: Nexus on the Whitebird; nickel 66s on the tobacco-bust "Brownbird", and 77s on the Blackbird (DCGF).

:)
I don't know what is on the VP. It is my figuring out songs bass at the moment. It was well used when I got it, so I doubt they are original. But they are what was on it.

Another one from that aforementioned "tour". I don't think one should do things like this with the T-Bird either but at least I used a pick...

Loved your clips!!! Great playing! Come to the states! Gimmie Shelter seemed a fresh version of Grand Funk's version which was a great new version itself. Very cool!

And it depends on where the upper strap button is. If it isn't at the heel of the neck, it needs to be moved.

On my '64 II, because the lower-bout strap restraint works so well, I didn't re-drill it's location. On any of my custom gen 1 T-bird bodied basses - I always shift it to the E string side.

I'm boring in a way that I use D'addario EXL170 set in almost all of my basses so the T-Bird has them too. Sounds good 'though and never bought a bad set.

Not boring - I primarily use D'Addario EXL (BT's when possible) Really good strings - really good company - big supporter/advocate (they should endorse me!!!) < joke ... :bassist:

Well, our librarian/tour manager/primus motor will have to start woodshedding his english skills then or I have to do a double duty...:D

I must confess I haven't even heard Grand Funk's version but I will. The idea for that arrangement came from me. I just thought what I could nick from John Martyn.

No apologies necessary - music evolves from being respectfully reinterpreted.

At least listen to the first song - the bass outlines the whole song and is aligned with the drummer throughout. Masterful pop music playing. DISCLAIMER: Not a huge fan of hers... but the 1st song is worth a listen...

Thanks @JJR58 for bringing the knobology topic back up. Unfortunately I wasn't able to log in yesterday and missed the conversation

For a 2 pickup set up:
1) How many have used the VVTT arraignment, what's your thoughts?
Mainly on Gibson and clone guitars, and somewhere on a bass. It’s good for anything with two pickups staying in parallel. I wouldn’t mind it on a Bird, especially a VP.

2) Parallel-series on a T-Bird. Who has tried it?

have it on my Hagstrom Model 1 (after experimenting with numerous wiring setups. I’m considering trying it on s Bird. I think it would add some missing low end on my VP. It would turn a CP into an Armageddon Machine.
