Thunderbird Club

Micky Dolenz and Marc Bell (ramone) are going against the "Spinal Tap" stereotype...
Was just telling my wife that when we get to the point that there’s only one Monkee, one Beatle, one Rolling Stone, and one Who member left they need to form a tribute band playing all their top hits and go on tour.

Been busy with the last gigs of the year and mixing and mastering the next Hair album, so haven't been around much. Been playing the Vintage Pro and Greco 4001s a lot, and increasingly thinking I might put a thunderbird pickup in the neck position of the Ric to add more low end oomph and output. And @Gaolee and @godofthunder59 guess I'll be joining the Acoustic Control ranks, picking up a 361 stack this weekend!

Greetings from California! Had to take the day off to go up to meet internet installer and a couple other service people at our new place. Having a bit of weather.

San Jacinto area? I know it was snowing down there yesterday.

So who is your TCT[1]? Wandering youtube for my work soundtrack, there were a number of great bass players showing up, but whenever I specifically wanted something, it always ended up being the same band with the same bass player. No surprise to at least one of us here, my BCT this week is Nikki, and specifically this song.

1. Thunderbirdist Crush Thursday

It’s ok to look and listen. But remember. She is and will always be mine.

And yes, my wife knows and understands my obsession. She knows I’m harmless.

That tone. So nice.

Lots of fun memories from when I was a grade school kid and the Monkees were on TV.

RIP Mike. Always enjoyed the show when I was younger. Saw them live when they reunited in the early to mid 80's. Mike was the only holdout for the reunion.

The place they are playing in Phoenix is not very big. It used to be the Mason Jar*** and holds a couple hundred people maybe. You should come see them here. Free place to stay if you do.

***I have played there several times but have seen a TON of fun shows there.

The Trubadour isn’t large either. If it weren’t winter, they probably could come close to filling the Greek which holds about 6,000.00.
