In fairness the first had ice on the road. No one can really drive on ice. Many think they can, but they also easily believe other things that aren't true. I was on an interstate once when it turned to black ice (looks wet but is now ice). Cars in front of me were all of the sudden flying off the road like and invisible hand was swatting them off the road. Being of occasional intelligence I noticed this odd phenomenon and slowed down, but even not braking caused some drifting. I pulled over to help a guy who hit a rock wall and saw a semi sliding toward me in all manner of configurations and literally thought I was going to die. Nothing he could do that I wasn't--trying not to soil myself. I mostly survived.

There is great humor to be found when dudes get their big pickups stuck. Seeing the feeling of invincibility drain way is worth slowing down to appreciate.

Yep. People want to do something. Mostly they hit the breaks which puts them out of control. Sometimes they hit the gas which also puts them out of control. Best thing to do is feet off the pedals and minimal steering input.

In N Ontraio, on the way back to base, I took a short cut that went the short way around one of the may lakes. Being just below freezing with a warm lake, a layer of moisture had settled on the road and turned to black ice. Going gently around a curve, I suddenly lost control and spun several times. I ended up in the snowbank one side of the road. Fortunately, I backed the car out and was ready to go again but I didn't know from which direction I had come. I figured, choose a direction and see where I end up.

I drove up to the mountain place this afternoon as soon as they opened the grapevine. The drive here was uneventful. But when I got to the place, there was a three foot berm blocking the driveway. We’re at 6200 feet. Much more of this and I’ll be in shape in no time.

Two words: Snowblower.

OK, that is actually one word. Try again. Get a snowblower. Hmm, three words. On average, I offer 2 words...

Well I was right, the Greco sounds shaging amazing with the pyramids…

I ALWAYS forget the pyramids are coated with shaging black shaging sludge from the black shaging lagoon!

I always get so shaging excited to put them on I shaging forget to run them through a shaging industrial dishwasher, or power wash them in the shaging driveway!

the baby wipe is much blacker than it turned out in the picture and I have washed my hands 3 times and still have black marks on them!

I have a few sets of pyramids and have never ONCE remembered to clean them before installation…

For sure. The JC has binding - much sharper. The only time it bothers my is sitting down at long rehearsals. But I wear my basses low.

Yep. I don't sit with my JC; the body is just too big for that (I'm built like a fire-hydrant). and that lead me to only playing standing up and the bass in the Casady position - low on the hip.

I really wanted one when they were on closeout, but the blue one was never as cheap as the red, black and brown ones so I didn’t bother. I’m kinda glad now because I would probably have to put it on the chopping block anyway.

We're supposed to have sub-freezing weather for a few hours early Sunday and Monday mornings. Next week highs are mainly mid-50s to high-60s, compared to 70s up to 81 this week.

I'm waiting for a lipstick pu made by Kent Armstrong (UK) as the one in it now is low-output (4k) as most lipstick pu's and doesn't match with the higher output Fender PV63 pu at 7k. (the KA pu is 7.6) So I'll get back with you once I install it. My Coral Deluxe Bass and 2 Silvertone Hornets are all Dano - all the time and I love their unique sound.

It’s been -10C (14F) for days now with night time lows of -14C (7F). I can’t wait to get back to rain!

I’ve been wanting to get one since they came out. And I had exactly the right amount of cash from selling a bunch of gear I wasn’t using.
The neck feels very similar to my 68 EBO, which makes it instantly comfortable.

When I lived in San Jose and worked in Santa Clara, a friend at work lived in Santa Cruz (for the surfing). I recall that one winter night, there was about an inch of snow in the mountains separating Santa Cruz from Santa Clara. He couldn't come to work at CHP has closed the roads as impassable.

And they probably were, all things considered.

They also fail to understand that although AWD/4WD may get you going faster, braking is still an issue.

As is steering. You're turning snow into ice as you drive over it, If others already drove on it (especially if they idled over it), it's already ice. Doesn't matter how many rubber tires you are driving, there's just not enough grip.

I like the P-J setup, but do like the dual reversed P config better. On my PJ basses I always lean on the P pickup and dial in a little J based on what I need at that moment. I NEVER use the J soloed on the PJ basses. It sounds to thin to be usable in my world.

If I treat this like a P and blend a little of the J in it’s tolerable, but the j by itself is useless.

Now that’s a shaging PJ..
