My dual fuel inverter is around 5000 peak watts and was the quietest one I could find at that size. Under full load you can just barely hear it from inside the house, at idle you can’t hear it at all inside the house. If it were being used for an outdoor band setting it might be ok if distanced from the stage with a long extension cord, never tried it for that, not sure if there’d be any clean power issues with finicky amps.

had this one lying around in the truck jic...morning after the gig in Monterey (spent the night in Pacific Grove), the wife suggested we stop at a deli, pack a picnic and head down to Big Sur (one of my favorite places on earth)...... so...after enough foie gras, fromage and most importantly, vin, it occurred to me to try it out lol...worked fine for about 6 minutes when the inverter started buzzing (intentionally, internal buzzer) which I interpreted as a low input voltage warning at which point I fired up the truck and it was all fine..
a group of local kids brought a drum over and we jammed....they were saying that since there is no cell coverage around no one's on FB people actually engage old school lol...
learned from this whole experiment that power conditioners may not be as overated as I thought...especially with newer SS and PWM amps....

I run power conditioners on everything these days. I found the Furman SS-6B will block noise from LEDs, so I just bring at least one for all the audio gear whenever I play out. I also have a Furman AC-215A that I have started using for my amp.

yeah, don’t blame you….I’ve seen old Fenders still operate (albeit not optimally:bored: from crappy mains and long extension cords) with the pilot lamps really dim or not lit at all…..modern gear is definitely not as forgiving…

I know I'm just crashing the party here with an entirely unrelated d subject... But this, for me, is pretty unexpected and huge: I've just committed to the purchase of a Fender Bassman 300 Pro tube amp. It's a 300-watt head, switchable to 8/4/2 ohms, and modded with an extra "filament transformer", to keep the main transformer from overheating because of the six Tung Sol KT-120 power tubes, which draw more than the amp is originally spec'd for. That's a bigger tube than you generally find in this (small building of an) amplifier.
And it's as large and heavy as a big dog.
So there you go, seek and ye shall find. This just sort of worked out.
My Epi Thunderbird Classic Pro is going to be stupid-sick plowing through this horrifying forest of high-power glass and iron (into a Bag End loaded SWR Big Ben, I'll probably be looking for another)... I'm sure I'll pay, karmically, for it somehow. I just hope it's a spectacular, fiery end, lol.

I've always been aware of the peril of using someone else's mic. Until lately, I just always treated it the same way I treated a piece of a sandwich that fell on the floor... "Five minute rule!"... Lol.
Those days are, for the meantime, gone, I guess.

a guy from another band wanted to use my Mike..I said no way..he even offered his Covid test results to show that it was Ok..still didn’t let him use it.

Opportunity knocked, it's good to answer when you get the chance... It's sort of a change of attitude and a granting of permission, for me to jump on it like this. I know what it is to defer a chance for something good, and I've had well enough of that.
