Thunderbird Club

Bling bird update…
Wrapped up the control wiring, all soldered and ground tested, passed with flying colors, not a hum or buzz even under fluorescent lighting. Connected output jack to the amp and tap tested each pup. Each volume/tone stack works as intended.
In the home stretch now - Centered, squared and aligned all the hardware (three pups with trim rings and a bridge and hard tail all on a raised center block demands a lot of attention to detail and triple checking all the gaps and spaces). Everything is now prepped for drilling all the mounting screw holes (nearly 50 without a pickguard) and final assembly…

Will do that work tomorrow in good daylight.
Please just stop. I thought this was going to look good, but clearly it's a huge mistake. It only gets worse with each new set of pics. Just box that part-out bass up and send it and I'll buy the parts from you so you don't take a bath with this clearly failed project.

;)

Stunning! You should take orders. After sending pics to Gibson...

He was clearly well on the way with what's still in the thread. Sad.
It is. I thought it an unusual post, which then elicited varied responses and he didn't know how to take the non-serious ones. In the GP I've had people who thought they were more clever than they actually were make ignorant comments on occasion, but I just ignored or thanked them for their time and deep insight and moved on. I noticed people were being funny but he didn't take it in fun, and got offended. Life is difficult--it's far more difficult when you're easily offended. I really feel for the guy and hope he just had a bad day not bad decade. Another reason why I truly appreciate the people in the Thunderbird Club.

Just remember, askin ain’t gettin

Understatement!

Sorry to hear the journey has been a tough one, but it sounds like good progress is being made. Here’s hoping the rate of recovery speeds up.

Seems to me there was a company down under (Bulldog Guitars?) that was making NR kits.

The ones I just bought tested at 10.8k ohms on the bridge pup IIRC.
I’ll check mine again. Thought I had 9.2 and 10.1

Anyone notice a sound difference, or was that my imagination? I have the neck pickup in the middle position at the moment. It seemed to have more growl. But it hard to say using hammered strings and a pine body. The mahogany body isn’t ready yet

Most of y'all get my rather warped sense of 'humor' and know I wouldn't say something mean/nasty. One of the great downfalls of this type of communication is the lack of tone of voice. Emojis(or the "/s") don't always convey intent. OK, enuff seriosity. Back to the important [stuff]: Gibsons.

I likes y'all, see we let you post your re-badged epiphones without any hassle...

Those are the Kalamazoo Epiphones by way of Indonesia, and finished in Finland correct?

so leg hair sticking through the nylons is NOT the look to go for.... noted...

I still haven't tried the .015 or .022 uf caps... I have them in my ebay cart along with a lot of expensive stuff, and I want to buy all of it at once...
