I wish. Is yours a Matsumoto? My 70’s Matsu built Aria acoustic guitar is a well built, great sounding instrument.

I don’t know what it is as it had a Ric TRC when I got it. I had an ElDegas Rocker TRC in my parts collection so I put that on it. As far as I can tell it’s a very faithful copy. Neck through, 33 1/4 scale length, Bubinga fingerboard, wiring followed the Ric schematic (with stereo out), pickups sound right, the bridge parts are interchangeable and the bridge had lifted
I had Schaller Ric tuners, so those replaced the typical MIJ tuners it had.
If it’s not maple, it’s a wood that looks close.
The shape of the headstock gives it away, but only if you’re looking for it.

I went on a quest one weekend in SoCal and tried several. They just felt and played awkwardly to me. Maybe it’s my body, the length of my arms, or the way I play. The standard Tbird reverse (my ‘15 Gibson and my two Epi LE custom shops) is the most comfortable body type for me to play.

I’ve never picked up a Ric in a store and liked it.

I owned an '86 4003 with the double pg and tr adjustment at the heal instead of the hs. It also had two screws through the bridge plate because it was known to peal back from string tension... They only made it like that for a year or two. I got it (in its OHSC) for $400. Parts were missing so I returned it to original specs for another $400. It had a Fireglo finish with nice flaming in the maple - a pretty bass. I wanted to like it - it had an ok sound and all, but after a couple years I sold it for a profit. Never regretted selling it. Still like the way they look and sound - just not my cuppa'.

Yeah, as I said it is a stretch. Most things like that are. But once pointed out you "see" it and can't not "see" it when you looked at the logo. Some were a little more identifiable. When the change was announced, the old logos items were difficult to get rid of. For obvious reasons.

I've had a few cool basses filter through my hands over the years - trying to support my bass building I've targeted the ones I could make a $ return on to help support ongoing projects. Otherwise, I'd own twice as many basses as I have now!

There are plenty of vintage colors that would work for me even if Gibson didn't offer metallic purple or Gretsch orange.

I think Fenders "Midnight Wine" would be a great T-bird colour.

No. But you can have books that are of no value, and books of more value to others.

I get rid of few books because they aren't generally things you read once and have no use for. I have no fiction. But when we moved if did downsize. A good number of went to secondhand stores. Not that you can tell but the number of book cases I still have and books still not in a case. I need more book cases.

I said almost. My next will be the 60th Anniversary Reverse in Pelham blue. With an improved two piece bridge ala Scott’s Badbird design. and vintage wind pickups. The only concession to the present will be the fabulous Hipshot tuners like on the ‘21 NR. $2399.00. It will be wonderful.

Can you gt the price down a bit? I can't see spending that. I'll wait till someone finds they are one trick ponys and they neck dive, etc.

I have a couple Kindles, but don't like them much. I've got my first gen version that will read to you. When I can't sleep I put an ear bud in and turn a book on. Gone through no telling how many books that way. But as for reading--give me a real book any day. The Kindle is just a convenience at times.

I did watch Talladega Nights against my better judgement and found it boring and stupid with the exception of every time Sasha Baron Coen was on the screen. Without him it was hopeless. I hoped the satire would be focused on the bubba circus that is nascar, but it was handled with kid-gloves instead - more of a promotional ad for it. Fool me once...

I tend to avoid a movie that is referred to as a stupid comedy. TETO

Ever been to a NASCAR race? Everyone there isn't an ignorant boob. Just like people who follow other sports shouldn't judged, stereotyped and blank labeled. Which most certainly and easily can be done. But that would be unkind as as well as unfair and show undue exaggerated self-importance to blanket derogatory remarks. I say that because I used to know a family like that (as just one example). But the more a learned about them the more it was apparent they had little reason to look down on others. They seemed to lack a reasonable amount of self-awareness on their own lack of perfection to say the least.
