I think that was SAAB.
was down in Ilo with my dad in the early 80’s surveying silver mines (owned by the Johnstons who also own the Crystal breweries) and had a little too much Arequipeña partying with the locals (should have gone to the mine that day…) to the point I got my passport stolen….no bueno since the embassy was in Lima…so, had to take a “colectivo” from Tacna to Arequipa to catch a plane to the capital…..that “colectivo” happened to be a Nova (69/70) with a 396 and 4 on the floor….that guy put that car through its paces…man those were quick!..
I don’t wonder at all. Your work is amazing and frankly, some I’ve seen on Reverb are reasonably priced. I came darn to buying that blue one a few years ago. Just wasn’t in the cards for me at the time. I’m sad I missed out on it.
He could build you another.![]()

** I kid! I love the music of Rush including the singing.
And here's the thing. He never sat down to write words. Someone would start playing something and he would just start making them up. Ed King once mentioned that Ronnie said if he can't remember them they're not worth singing in the first place. Something close to that. Ed was amazed that he could just come up with words like that.
But I'm certain this must be how a number of songs from the 60s and early 70s had to have been "written" given some of the word salads that passed for lyrics. At least with Ronnie's you could listen and know what the heck he was talking about since the words actually went together!
Both Geddy and Alex are skilled impersonators. Well, of a select cast of characters anyway...If some find Geddy hard to take they could try David Surkamp of Pavlov's Dog. "Marty Balin on helium".
Lisa Dalbello does a great Geddy imitation on Alex' "Victor" album. What a fantastic singer, her "Whomanfoursays" album is just brilliant.

No, sure haven't. But talked with Sammy Hagar in the lat 70s. Wait he's not from here or maybe even Earth....
I can't recall what part of Ky they are from, but it's not Louisville.
There are a number of good music documentaries. Many seem to have the common denominator of Sam Dunn. He has a degree in anthropology and seems to approach his subject matter that way. It makes for interesting insights.I just watched that last night. I enjoyed it - it was well done.
Pretty much the same here. Never been a fan of NYs voice, his lyrics are ok and his arrangements are good. Net, I wouldn’t miss much if I never heard him perform another song. Ted isn’t high on my fan list either, again not that fond of his vocals, but he is a dynamite super high energy player and performer. Wouldn’t miss much if I never heard him perform another song either. I won’t talk politics of either party here, there’s other places better suited for that.IMO, his "voice" is whiny and grating. Not something I wanna listen to. AFA his-or Ted Nugent's, or pretty much anyone else's-politics, they don't matter to me. BUT! If I pay good money to hear a concert, play yer music and STFU. If I wanna know their 'thoughts', I'll read their FB page. Or tweets.(neither of which I'm gonna do).

There's been a lot of singers with unusual voices over the years; early Bowie, early Bryan Ferry, David Byrne, Jello Biafra, Joanna Newsom, Tiny Tim, Liz Fraser, Captain Beefheart, Björk...
