Thunderbird questions.

Cause i started out with a five string bass that has heavy gauge.
So my fingers are not use to the big diffranse
IME heavy gauge strings are harder on your fingers than light or medium. At any rate, it sounds like you need to play more to build your calluses. I can play anything from mandolin to guitar to electric bass to upright bass without getting blisters.

I don't think active T Birds make much sense.... The fact that they are doing these T Bird pros under Epiphone just shows me that Gibson recognizes there is a market for this stuff, but they won't put it out themselves and have to call it a "Gibson Thunderbird". If you think that a passive Gibson T Bird needs any changes, then you are missing the bet part about T Birds. The passive humbuckers are awesome.

I just hop that the frets are a little smaller. Are the frets on the Epiphone Thunderbird are the biggest frets?
this thread is making me dizzy. The frets on your Studio 6 active thunderbird will not cause blisters and can be tuned beadg or eadgc.

No i was saying that are the Thunderbird frets the biggest frets available? I am not changing the frets or any thin i was just curies. My Squier five string has small frets with heavy gauge strings it make that double bass sound which is really cool foe a electric bass.
whew I just went thru 50 posts to see if there was a common goal this thread was trying to achieve, but it looks like I'll be better off NOT trying to figure out if there is one

Its not the bass its the strings. And its just a regular Epiphone Thunderbird 4 cherryburst color. I want to post a pic but my computer wont let me. It crashed and its only working on safe mode.
Sounds like you r in a chat room tryin 2 cyber w/ sum1.

As for the blisters... what kind of strings are they? Just from reading the replies it sounds like you need to spend more time playing and building up calluses.

1. Set bass up or have it done.
2. Play bass in whatever band you can find. A lot
3. Fix computer
4. Come back and tell us about it from time to time, show some pics and perhaps narrow down the list of issues/questions/concerns you have.
I may be wasting time by saying it, but in that order is probably best.
Well stop coming on here if you tired of posting its just going to go on tell people stop posting or the moderator closes it. The questions are threw and done with where are just kicking the ball around talking about Thunderbirds.
I believe louseybassplayer WAS trying to answer your questions since they were very unusual, ESPECIALLY someone who says they play a tbird with XHG strings on it and gets blisters after 15 minutes.

let me ask you a question or 2 since I re-read the first 20-30 earlier posts and some of your very interesting replies generated some questions I have for you. Just a couple questions since your not providing us with any type of specific information to work with, just unusually random questions/replies and it is getting very confusing.
you have nothing in your profile so:
how long have you been playing?
how long have you owned your tbird?
do you want a tbird 5 string to replace your tb4 because you want to play something with a wider neck than a TB4 and a Squier?
do you want an active tbird instead of a passive one, and do you know the differences?
have you never bought a set of bass strings before to not see the gauges written all over the bags and already know the thickness you need for which the nut was cut for?
do you have a store or 2 around you to go into and check them out yourself and seek your answers on your own?
and if you can get online to this board, you should be able to goggle all the answers you want, since I never could get my browser to work in safe mode I can't believe your running your machine that way
I guess that pretty much covers all the questions I had to try to help you answer some of your questions, hope that helps.

YOU DO KNOW that the nut was cut for 45-105, nothing more nothing less right???, AND you you have ANY pics,clips,videos to show us what you have, because around here, you can say you have anything you want, but without proof, you don't have a tbird or a squier.

And i had my Thunderbird for six months. I just pick the Thunderbird cause it just looks cool nothing more and i was just playing it safe just when i pick the strings cause music stores and can con you out of your money. And second are you mad cause i called out lousybassplayer? Sorry i am just a little upset that people think on here that you an expert i only been playing for two years give me a break! I like to pick bass's cause they look cool. I don't care about the wood its made out of are the company that made it or the craftsmanship i think its fine but its probley darn sad for you guys. So i dont buy multi thousend bass's that you guys buy or collect! and the other anwser is that i dont know how to use a computer worth a darn i thought i did. And other my spelling is not great or my gramer . So my point here is that don't make front of a person cause of his lack of knowledge at insuterments or his lack of internet lingo or his computer experience. You guys are grown men act like it so thats my rant right there. i would like to keep this thred alive just to talk about Thunderbirds. And sorry for the rant i started a thred a long time ago about the diffrance from guitar's and bass's in there tekneeks and role.
