Yeah, even when coil split, those T40 pickups are very hot. I search ebay constantly for them, the exposed magnet ones rarely show up.

Thanks, Hop - actually the push/pull "up" position converts the T40 to "north coil only", as well as turning on the QP. But even so, I still think the QP is being out-shouted by the T40 in SC mode.
I kinda like the ring-less look - going for the EVH stripped-down rock-n-roll vibe!
So when you kill the south coil of the T40, the switch kicks in the Jazz pickup?

When the T40 is coil split, are the QP and the T40 north coil RWRP so they cancel hum? If so that is a really well thought out circuit.
So is the bridge pickup dead when the T40 is in humbucking mode? You are giving me some great ideas for future builds.
