haha most of their songs feature F# loads. I love Rage but they only have 2 songs : F# and D!
I'd say it's Bulls on Parade or possibly Bombtrack. What benefits does having a heavier bridge have?
I do agree i love tht Stingray tone on the first rage album, and it makes me GAS 4 a 'Ray (i play a jazz)
i think it sounds awesome, but it doesn't punch through like on the other albums! i kinda just blends wiv the guitar, so he cant be heard that well,
on evil empire, u could hear him soooooo well, and still hear the guitar loads
but still love stingray tone
It makes the Chorus of a song seem even that much softer, and will change the entire dynamics of a song and how it flows...
One of my favorite Tom Morello quotes:
"If you want to learn how to rock, learn F#".
Gotta love Timmy C. though, my favorite bassist. Has anyone who's seen Rage live recently seen him play any of his Jazz basses along with the Lakland, or does he only use it on a couple songs? Hopefully I'll be seeing them live at Lollapalooza, so I'll have to keep my eye out.
id love to hear his Fender Jazzes compared to his Lakland jazzes compared, same setting on his amp, and all that, just 2 hear!
Just a side note:
I actually remeber seeing a Sadowsky bass for sale that was black/rosewood that Timmy used to record the 1st AUDIOSLAVE album. I know he uses the sadowsky preamp pedal too!
Gladly, The Lakland 44-01.
Pros compared to the Geddy,
- More options; rosewood, or maple fretboard, Fretless, Fretted. More finish options.
- Active, or passive.
- Better access to the higher frets.
- Silky satin finished neck, as opposed to the Geddys sticky gloss finish. (Might not be a pro for everyone.)
- Costs less.
- Not a Jazz Bass.
- Has 5 string counterpart, 55-01. Also reasonably priced.
Cons compared to the Geddy,
- No tone control in passive.
- Not a Jazz Bass.
- No case or bag included.
Though with the money you save buying the 44-01 you can buy a case.
Link for price comparison,
Ive played my friends Geddy alot, and for the money Id much rather have the 44-01.
Go Tim w/Lakland!
Awsome to see one of my biggest influences using my favorite basses.
I saw Tims new Lakland JO yesterday, it has birds eye maple blocks on a Rosewood fb and it really looks nice.
He came by Lakland today to pick it up and he will using it Saturday at Lollapalooza here in Chicago with RTM.
WOW! Love to see photos of that! If I lived on that side of the country, I'd go for sure. Damn. What color was the bass?
That is it
That rosewood looks dark...love it!!
Yes and its just as dark in person.
I don't think so.
Love the contrast.
Worst. Tattoos. Ever.
Is it just standard badging on the headstock? It's likely just me but it doesn't look like the standard stamp
I had heard somewhere that it was cover ups of some bad half sleeves
