The fact is, if you got to Timmies expecting a connoisseur's coffee then you'll be disappointed, if you go there just expecting a half descent coffee for a cheap price, you're a winner.

They`re morning sammich
donuts n donuts holes (they beat DD all the way imo)
lemon flavoured green ice tea ->addicting
ice cap
soup/smamich/chili
hot chocolates

This privately owned joint on Queen Street. They brew the best damn espressos and lattes known to man. Once you've had the real thing, nothing else can compare.

A couple of things....
The Tim's in New York are formerly Duncan Donuts locations... Tim's simply moved in.
Is it the best coffee on the planet, no likely, but, what you can say is that no matter where in the world you are, you will get the same cup of coffee at Tims, which to me anyway, is something I like! Too many places have "dirty water" for coffee, so I like having a consistant, although admittedly, not perfect coffee.

From your description it sounds like they take the same approach as Starbuck's and McDonald's - consistency over taste. Usually the way a chain (such as Starbuck's, Peet's, etc..) achieves consistency in coffee is to overroast the coffee beans. That way the roast flavors overwhelm the bean flavors so that any inconsistencies in the bean are imperceptible. This is why Starbuck's espressos have that cloying carbony aftertaste.

I would like to add to my previous statement that Spot is leagues ahead of Tim's. Really no comparison. But Tim's is still great if you're into cream and sugar.

That might be true in Canada, but by US fast food standards I would call it strong. Either way, definitely not as bad as many here make it out to be. If you want gourmet don't go to chains.

Any Canadian here knows how hooked we are on tims. In St. catharines we have no word of a lie over 20 timmy's, and they are always packed. I know i usually don't go longer than a week without stopping by. I was just there this morning for an extra large double double and everything bagel? Do you think i like it? No. Do I need it ? Hells yeah!!

Yep, we Buffalonians know that. No doubt.

This was to be my next argument for letting Buffalonians get into the Canadian Club had I needed to press further, but the CC was nice enough to let me in on my first asking.

As for the OP, I'm hooked on 1/2 hot chocolates + 1/2 coffee (Mocha minus the whipped cream) and the Ice Capps are awesome.
