Well fellow TBer's, our Canadian Icon has opened 12 locations in New York just this week. Enjoy the coffee, the sandwiches and all the other fine fare offered by Tim! We Canadians obviously love Tims, it's the largets fast food shop in the counrty!

They'll have a tough time in the NE, what with Dunkin' Donuts around...They won't even attempt to open TH in MA...I know a local franchiser, and she told me that lil' nugget.

I love a lot of Tim's stuff (donuts, IceCaps, chili, etc.), but the coffee is bitter crap.

Compared to Starbucks coffee, Tim's is pretty good.

Double doubles and Mocha's are great, and considering they're like $1.50 or something, beats the hell out of Starbucks.

I finally had a chance to try this when I was in Portland, Maine earlier this year. It's alright. There are some great coffee shops near my house, not to mention what I make myself, that have set the standard really high for coffee that I drink. TH is about average. It was pretty much equal to the McDonalds coffee around here.

The donuts were good, but I did not try anything from the lunch menu.

We got 2 Timmy Ho's on the main street in town that came around about a year or 2 ago (that is currently also populated by 4 Dunkin Donuts also)... They started off being 24 hour places, but switched to regular closing times... They never seem as busy as the DD's, but always have at least someone there.

I still haven't been inside the place, though I've had one of their doughnuts before, and tried the coffee, I don't really remember how they tasted. I remember not liking the coffee so much (I don't really like DD's either... they're all too weak for my tastes), and the doughnut was alright.

I think so. Coffee tastes different everywhere I go in this country. Some places, it is great. Others....not so much.

If all a guy ever had was brand X in his town, he'd come to like it and wouldn't know no different to what is better or worse.

The fact is, if you got to Timmies expecting a connoisseur's coffee then you'll be disappointed, if you go there just expecting a half descent coffee for a cheap price, you're a winner.

Good point. You need to set the proper expectations. Kind of like when you go to Jack in the Box for tacos....don't expect a real taco.

What ruined it for me when I went to TH for the first time is I was told to prepare myself for the best donuts and coffee around. So, I was disappointed. Had I wandered in on a casual suggestion, it probably would have been a better experience.

Timmy's is already in Connecticut and Rhode Island. In some locations they're right next to a Dunkin' Donuts.
