Would it be at all possible to wire this type of effect into a passive bass? A timbre knob would be much more useful than a treble cut.

If the timbre control is similar to the A.M.P. circuit, here is a schematic that shows the "balance" control. It is part of the graphic EQ circuit.

It would be difficult to wire this into a passive bass.
