Time for another "What are you saving up for?' Thread

Warwick Corvette fretless 4- or 5-string. I'd consider a Thumb fretless if I were richer. ;)

I'm also curious how my Jazz would sound through a Sadowsky outboard preamp or Nordstrand pickups... but those are just thoughts, not plans.

Having alredy accuired my fretless, I have to move on to upping my amplification. This is what I've currently decided I want:

Mesa Bass 400+

Fender 8x10 and Ampeg 2x15 cabinest to go with it, so I can have complete bowel evacuation powers.

After that, the list goes like this:

fretless 6 with scroll-type headstock in the style of a violin (built by yours truly)

Warmoth-supplied buildup of a 51 P, totally vintage style on this one, bridge covers, pickup covers, everything.

Another Warmoth (I just love them. my fretless J is awesome), but this time a freaky wild 8 string with a sparkly finish. My very own 'space bass'

And finally, a 12-string guitar with a very scalloped fingerboard and some wild trem bridge run through all sorts of effects, just for the hell of it.

And someday before I die:

Rickenbacker 4001 (jetglo) with the checkerboard binding

Dan Armstrong (not the Ampeg reissue)

Let me see...

1...Roland or Yamaha electronic drum set
2...Sadowsky Modern 24-5
3...Valenti PJ (like the Geddy Pee...with the NP5)
4...LeCompte 4 banger (the ST4)
5...a new acoustic Guitar (Maton, Cole-Clark or Art & Lutherie)
6...a setup and dress up of my P-bass copy (possibly by Hambone)
7...An Eden Head and an El Whappo Jr Cab
8...A decent recording system
9...A couple of those really funky Japanese high end basses
10...A '51 P-bass copy by Warmoth
11...A decent URB
12...A partridge in a pear tree :D

I'm saving my kroner and øre for my new Benavente fretless 6-string bass, which should be ready for delivery by the end of the month.

And since pictures are extremely welcome:

Right now I'm really caught....

I can't decide whether to get an Attitude bass or a Status Headless Kingbass...

I've been thinking about maybe really pushing it an going for one of these....

Or maybe one of this (but most likley not saying as they are a great deal more expensive)

Which ever one I go for, I'm sure I'll end up very happy! it should be noted though, that I wouldn't get one with a "bendwell" system on it..., as you can see in the second picture.

The next upcoming "big" purchases for my upcoming 30th... err, 29+ birthday are more generally music-related than bass-specific: a digital recording setup made up of a maxed-out iBook, M-Audio FireWire 410 Interface, Radium 49 49-key USB MIDI Controller, and Pro Tools M-Powered software. It took me 15 years of playing bass to finally reach the stage where I think I have writing ability beyond composing a bassline, so it's time to jump into the deep end of the pool.

Should I somehow get a large amount beyond that, I'd love to finally spring for my "dream bass" of a Mike Lull Modern 5 so I can stop GASing in that area. If I have only a little over a Dean Edge Hammer 10x 10-string (octave) bass would be a nice toy, as I've finally retired my old DigiTech Bass Whammy after A/B-ing it and realizing just how much of a "tone suck" it was. It seems there is a negative to massively upgrading one's amplification. :rollno: :smug:
