Time for another "What are you saving up for?' Thread

Other than a second G-K Neo112 cabinet, I may want a fairly high end bass, possibly custom built. I'm not in any rush, and I haven't nailed down exactly what it should be, but I'm thinking:

P/J pickups;
passive electronics, or active with something like Sadowsky's VTC;
more than the Fender standard 20 frets;
J nut width;
ebony or pao ferro fretboard; and
not necessarily Fender clone body.

I've had makers like Valenti and Matt Pulcinella in mind, and of course there's the Sadowsky P/J. But I'm pretty happy with my Fenders so I'm going to wait so I'm sure what I want. Or maybe I'll just grab one of those Frank Bello Fenders when they come out next month, and plan for the next stage after that. ;)

Looking into an amp rig mainly at the moment... Thinking of possibly going with the Carvin BRX1510:

Also would eventually like to get a little sister for my Stambaugh 8 string. Exact copy in a 6 string version...

Hey Mark - I've had my eye on that head (casually) myself. I've never played through one but I've always wanted to know what they sounded like. Care to give a mini-review?
Have never played one myself though I've heard good things about them.. Here's a thread from the Amps forum:

I had been saving...now I'm spending...at least 1/2 of it, anyway... for my deposit on this:

Meet my new bass. (the top anyway).

I'm one of those more financially conservative types, so while the deposit is only 50%, I wanted to make sure I was in good shape for the second half of the payment too. Even though I know it's 6 to ? months away. :)

Now if my luthier/contact person will just be in his office to take my payment info. :(

Hopefully a CXL 112 with a markbass S450 this saturday, im excited.

After that, nothing for a long time, since universitys putting the on the crunch, but at some point in my life maybe a fender P, a rick 4003, a warwick is actually nice to play (love the sound, hate the feel) and whatever else whets my appetite

I got all my money saved!

I ordered a Rob Allen Mouse 30, and I should have it soon.

This is the only pic I have, the top.

It's coming soon, I'm getting anxious and starting to loose sleep. The first thing I do when I get home is check my email.
Not today.. :crying:

All three versions of the epiphone t-bird, and then a gibson in ebony, eventually a custom made version that I already have planned out from mr valenti with parts from warmoth, (this will take me many years of touring with my badn since I'm still in high school)

A G&L L-2500 in either blue burst or clear blue with an ebony board to go with my current L-2000 in clear red with a maple board.

edit, may go with another L-2000 with the same above options, still broke and deciding.

and a 1200 watt amo rig. 1200 head an 2 600 watt cabs (one 2x15 abd the other 4x10, made by Kustom, supplied by our sponsor store)

I'm selling off some basses I never play to buy one of the following used:

Modulus Q-6
Peavey Cirrus-6
Yamaha Patitucci Sig.

I'm completely hooked on the 6 string and I'd love to have another one with a different sound.

Hotrodded SX. Exactly what I want and at an affordable price ^^

in the future however...

Lecompte 6
Bee Bass 8
Fender J (custom shop)
Fender P (custom shop)
Ampeg 115 to go under my 210

that's about it, it's not in order (except the SX)
