Time for another "What are you saving up for?' Thread

not as much saving up but considering trading up...maybe trying to get something new in trade for my Cirrus 6 redwood and my Ergo stick....not really sure what kind of basses would be pushed my way as a trade though...guess I'd just have to see....but I absolutely ADORE my cirrus, but I think if the right offer came up I'd be willing to try something new

but I'd love to one day have a marchlewiski,fodera, or benavente :) (says the poor college kid, lol)

well i've never seen something like this but it's my dream and thanks to warmoth i may be able to make it happen within my price range.

i want a bass with an alder jaguar body in a sort of light blue/sea foam green sort of vintage color with a white pearloid pickgaurd. the pickups would be bartolini and would be in a J/P/J configuration a la Stu hamm but i would want passive with a volume and a tone knob for each pup. and then a maple neck with maple fingerboard with black binding and black bar inlays(think the geddy bass). that would be my absolute dream.

if i couldn't get that i could always settle for a vintage Rick 4001 :D

I guess I've got a few things I'm saving up for. The first two are the top priority, but the third is certainly something I'm GASing hard for and want to make a reality ASAP. So, without further ado,

1) QSC PLX2402
2) Epifani UL310 (or possibly an LDS Neo 310 or Neo 212)
3) A fretless bass

Now, I know that (3) is way too general. I'm currently thinking either EBMM StingRay5 or Sterling HH unlined fretless or G&L JB-2 or L2000. In many ways, I want my first "new" bass to be something fancy. All of those easily could be, but I've got a thing for quilt maple. However, the HH pickup setup on the SR5/Sterling is the most appealing. I'm a fan of simplicity (i.e., passive bass), but I want pickup options to switch between humbucking and single-coils. It'll be a while (at least a few months) before I put money down for a fretless, so I'm just gonna keep reading TB and keep on dreaming.

i'm saving for a G&L L-2500, maple neck, clear blue, aswell as oneof the Epiphone Thunderbird models, (preferably alpine white)

but number one on my list right now is a new amp, 1200 watt kustim, either a 2x15 cab and a 4x10 cab or just an 8x10 cab. not sure yet, leaning towards 2 cabs, (easier to fit in my van)

I'm saving up for a custom bass. I'm thinking either Stambaugh or an Ed Roman model. I don't really have the cash to drop on an Alembic, but I hear nothing but praise for Stambaughs.

What I'm thinking of is:

6-strings
Bartolini PUs
Bart 3-band EQ
7-piece Neck
Neck-through design with dual truss rods
34" - 35" scale
Wooden bridge, with string-through-body metal retainers
Ebony fingerboard
Walnut 5-piece Mahogony body
Rubbed oil finish

Once I have about 2k in the bank I'll start calling around seriously.

That's a really nice looking Rickenbacker.

In regards to the topic... I'm currently saving up for Christmas shopping for the family, friends, and wifey :crying:

If I had the cash on the side to save for something though, it would probably be a new amp setup. My Hartke VX210 is nice and all, but I always catch crap about playing a bass like a Rickenbacker through such a "low end" amp... to that I say, "oh please." It sounds fine to me...
