Time to replace markbass combo II

Had this 2x10 wedge combo for nearly 10 years. I absolutely love the sound. The tone, punch, and the depth are my favorite that I've ever played with.

But the headaches that the head gives me are coming to a head. It'll randomly go mute, or start blaring noise, or the fan will start screaming.

There's nobody around me as far as I can tell to repair it. Given how long I've had it, it may be time to replace.

My question is: what other 500-800w 2x10s out there will give me the same kind of presence that this guy does?

Or alternatively, even better, would be to replace just his head and roll with the same set up again for another 10 years. But I can't tell which Marc base head this actually is. It says combo head II.

Just get another one. Guitar Center currently has the CMD 102P V on sale at $999 ($200 off) w/ free shipping. Or you can just by a Mark Bass Little Mark 58R 500W head to replace yours. You definitely have options.

Or contact the MarkBass factory service center in So. CA (VST) and see what it would cost to get the amp properly repaired.

Fix or get the LMII head and MB 2x10 cab. Personally, I'd say getting yourself outta the combo and into the head + cab area is a good move. Just my opinion though...

All LittleMark heads will fit. And there's a smokin SALE on M.F. for Markbass!
I'd do that, and would be the most economical choice as well.

Just buy a new head and re-use the combo. A newer Little Mark is a popular mod, I believe, someone made a video of process in the Markbass club thread.

If you can track one down, get an Eich 212 combo.
Not aware they do a 210, but Eich is high quality kit, no question.

Just get another Markbass head, and slip it into the chasis. If you like the sound, you like the sound. I have gone through a lot of heads and cabs, but the one that has never left me is my LM II CMD 102P combo. It's a killer grab and go amp, and I nothing quite sounds like a Markbass (people tend to either LOVE them or HATE them....LOL).

Price wise, replace the head and reuse the combo since you already have the speaker cabinet essentially. However, may be worth however at least looking at what else may be out there for a amp+cab setup too within your budget your looking to spend.

Currently, I use a GK 212 combo because it provides all I need within one small package. But then again the argument of being brand loyal to Mark Bass if you like their stuff is something to consider I guess as well.
