Great chance to give these a try. They are low tension roundwounds with a very crisp and clear sound without the harshness of other roundwounds. If you like stiff feeling, dark and muffled sounding strings you have a pass on SuperBrights, as they are the opposite of that!

No excuse not to try them at that price. They are not loose or floppy at all, just low tension.

I don't know if I'll "switch" per se, but I just ordered a couple of sets to try out. One 4-string nickel, one 6-string nickel. Still $10 cheaper combined than one set of my usual at regular price. Thanks for the tip.

I've been using the 45-105's SuperBright nickels on all of my basses, but I ordered some 40-100 for a lighter feel. Can't wait to give those a shot! I'm hoping these feel like a 35-95 set of 'normal' strings

I tried them and they were close to that light. The 45-105 set feels very similar to a 40-100 set of Sunbeams.

40-100 is what I use. Much more flexible than the Nickel XLs I was using before.

Thanks for sharing mmbongo! I've been used DR nickel LoRiders for a while though I like the sound and feel, would love to try some that have less tension and are a bit more flexible. Just ordered a set of Super Brights for each bass.

mmbongo, if asked to compare and contrast these with Rotosound Swing Bass ss, what would you say?

Been a while since I used Roto's, but from what I remember...in comparison to Roto's the SuperBright Steels will be:
-more flexible
-smoother feeling
-not as 'clangy' sounding
-clearer, deeper sounding

If you like that signature Roto66 sound, there's only one way to get it But SuperBright Steels are somewhat similar to that sound, just not as brash.
