Tired, annoying phrases

People who use "Like" too much... (This is a random bit I just put together for this. Any situation(s) considered similar to life events is purely coincidental.)

Like, I don't know what he was thinking, and he was like, "Mind your own business." And I'm like, "I'll do whatever I want." Like, who does he think he is?

"I'm sorry, but......"

No, saying sorry first does not excuse you from being a jerk.

-Mike

Im sorry Mike, but you are wrong in this particular line of thinking.

I mean, youre right that saying sorry does not excuse one from being a jerk, but it is possible to use that turn of phrase without making it an excuse for being a jerk. :smug:

Whenever my gf says something about "touching base", I like to walk over to my bass and touch it. It never gets old.

Im sorry, but youre doing it wrong. Its an invitation to touch her boobs, you know, second base.

Which ones grind your gears? Today at the airport I heard business doods on their cell phones saying "just want to touch base" at least three different times. Sick to death of hearing that. You?

I love baseball and I love how baseball lingo has been adapted into everyday colloquialisms. Things like "touching base", being "on deck" and being "thrown a curveball" remind me how baseball is so ingrained into our culture.
