Costco, best deal on Chinese Michelins
I hear they like 'em loud at Big O.
Fixed. The sidewalls will have more cracks than you can imagine in three years. but hey, go for it.
You should look at the age of the tires before you buy them. Someone may have had a set of takeoffs floating around in their garage for 10 years and they're looking to unload them..... cheap. Rubber breaks down as time goes by, so just because the tire looks good doesn't mean it really is.
To find the age of the tire, you need to find the DOT number stamped on the side of it. Every road legal car/truck tire has this, and what you want to look at is the last four numbers of the DOT number...... they tell the week and year the tire was made. so, if you see the last four being 2614, that means the tire was made the 26th week of 2014. 2001 would be the 20th week of 2001, 0506 would be the 5th week of 2006 and so on. Now, if the tire only has three numbers at the end of the DOT, that means the tire was made prior to 2000..... so 309 would be the 30th week of 1999.
Would you really want 18 year old rubber on your car??
Loud tires save lives.
With all the stupid distracted drivers on the road lately, you can hear me coming a mile away....... sounds like a swarm of bees coming down the road.

Dang. How many miles do you get out of set of Swampers?
Oh wait, now I remember. You were the motor head that took over the car thread![]()
Best I've gotten is 35,000 miles out of a set and they still would have passed inspection when I took them off.
Not too bad considering that's what I got from my Goodyear MT/Rs, which aren't half as aggro!
+1 I've been buying my tires from them since 1984. They have decent prices and the customer service is always excellent. You can also buy their warranty on the tires on a new car. I think I paid $125.00 for my wife's new Kia Soul for a lifetime warranty.Discount Tire...... Excellent pricing and the guys know their stuff.....
