To return or not to return…

@Captain Chaos if you have an inclination to put a clear pickguard on this bass, it won't work. In addition to the CNC hole, the neck pickup has the oversized rout down to the control cavity. :(

That sucks they have nice tops to be routed that way. I was thinking of getting a white pearloid pick guard but can’t find the right one and most likely won’t get one. At the moment I’ll only be replacing the bridge for a Fender hi mass bridge.

The stock bridge is fine, at least on mine. And I agree about the routing. When I posted mine in a NBD thread, I included a poll about the pickguard color. The consensus was to leave the black one on, and that a pearloid one would be too 'busy' for that flamed maple top. I did some Photoshops to confirm it. If I do decide to change it, I might go with a mint green or 3-ply white/black/white one.

Come and see my collection, then speak of the odds. Not so naive after my 20 year collection. You are displaying lower than expected quality, hate to see your collection, then speak of naive.
So you’re saying never once in your life experience have you ever bought something for cheap and then later on you realized why it was so cheap....
As in quality control issues, etc....
I’m not saying that you probably don’t have a nice collection....geez ,you’re getting crazy defensive

I never liked stock fender bridges and the hi mass bridge is $45 which is even cheaper than the other alternatives out there.

I just finished installing mine.
