To return or not to return…

There’s a store nearby with one in stock. I’m gonna check it out and decide then.
It's gorgeous. If plays and sounds nice keep it. You'll eventually scuff it up anyway.
I had to play five or six Telecasters in a store before I found the one that felt right in my hands and sounded right to me. Guitars (basses included) aren't cookie-cutter items made of plastic. Each one is a bit different and it if feels right to you, you're taking a chance by returning it. So if it were me, those things would not be enough to compel me to take the risk. Others might not care about feel as much as I do.
Cool. Good luck. There's no reason for you to have to tolerate that when there are perfect condition basses out there available.

Contact the seller, show them the imperfections, and see if they'll take some $$$ off. If not - return. BUT then you run the risk of getting a replacement that doesn't play / sound as nice as this one.
New basses quite often sound great. Once the honeymoon is over, you’re left with the truth.

Its a Fender. They're a dime a dozen.
Realistically your new bass is worth less than a similar one without factory defects. GC can either eat that cost by shipping a bass back and forth or by giving you a discount. I don't see why you should have to pay for it. You might be able to live with it now, but how long are you going to live with your bass?
And for all the folks saying its a sub $700 bass, I've seen better finishing on $150 basses from Squier.

Selling online leaks a lot of things that should never make it past quality control. A retailer sells/takes a return/resells until it finds a home. As a buyer, I never have worried about resale value. If it plays well, I'd keep it. But if you change your basses more often than your underwear then don't keep it.

Some things are permanent, some things are temporary. The perfection of the finish is temporary. Before you return it, evaluate the more intrinsic parts of the instrument:
If it was lacking in the more intrinsic features, I'd be returning it.
- How heavy is it?
- Does it neck-dive or hang nicely on the strap?
- How does it play?
- How does it sound?
- Do the tuners work smoothly?
- Are the fret edges smooth?
- Is the neck straight?
