To the Sadowsky Crew ...

Whoa... Dude... Don't you know 13 is an unlucky number?

Order two... then send one to me :D

In Japan, 4 is an unlucky number(It represents the 4th stage of life, or DEATH)

So that's why I always stop at 3 basses...then trade or sell if I want to get another.

It's better that way.

So right now I have a Newly acquired Sadowsky MV5...a MIM Fender Active Deluxe Jazz, and an Epiphone Allen Woody Sig.

A happy lil family.

HI

Thanx guys. I ordered it in black, black hardware, d-tuner, maple board, modern style with no pickguard, controls in a diamond configuration like a 24/5, Nordstrand big singles in jazz bass postition, standard Sadowsky electronics. Thats about it. Very cool. The wait begins.

Daaayumm! Nordie Big Singles huh? Why?

Hey Rob,

Did you play or at least gander at this one?? I see someone has it on hold, so maybe it was off limits.

I tell you, I am holding out for a Dingwall ABII for my next bass, but this one almost caused me to stray from "the plan."

HI

Hey Mike. What up? Picked the Nordstrand singles from a recommendation from Roger. Glad I did. Had a chance to play a 5 string just finished before I left yesterday that had them. They sound fantastic

Hey Bob. Played it. Very nice. Was on hold to a guy in Europe. Looked fantastic. Good luck

Describe the tone compared to the regular Sadowsky J's and/or the Sadowsky single coils.

HI

Well, I'm not really good at describing but I'll try. LOL

They just seemed to be louder, punchier, with a great sweet tone. A bit of hum when you panned but nothing major.

Compared to my humcancelling basses, more middy!?

I dont know, guys I'm crappy at describing frequencies and the like I just know what I like. I have great ears but my soundman vocabulary is quite poor. LOL

One other comment. When thinking about how the bass would look upon completion, I didnt want the look of the traditional single coil pickup, even though I wanted the tone. The Nordstrand are thin, rectangular, no rough edges. I really thought, esthetically, they would really fit the overall design I was after. Im just glad they sound great, too. LOL. A recommendation from Mr Sadowsky never hurts, also. All Ive heard lately is great things about Nordstand products and I wasnt disappointed in the pickups

Thanks ROb. Give me a ring. We haven't chatted in a while and I lost your number when my phone crapped out. Can't make NAMM this year as I will be in Nashville.

Later bro.

Ash, of course. I prefer my Sadowsky's with swamp ash bodies, very light. Around 8lbs. I will sometime this year get a Sadowsky Metro hybrid. Alder, PJ setup, rosewood board. Want that '60s look and tone but with the J taper neck and added j pickup. Cant wait for either!!!

that is a gorgeous sounding bass.

if i were ever to get another M24, it'd be in these woods with maybe a quilt top. the braz gives everything a nice sweetly rounded top end that i actually prefer for my slap. nothing too clicky. rather sweetened.
