To those who know about gospel...

Something that just came to my head: a lot of gospel bass players that i see play lots of scales and fills when they play. What i want to know is, what kind of fills do they play?? i dont know who to give examples of because there are a lot of people that play that style...if you have any idea, tell me.

I guess the genre Gospel is quite broad... Juan Nelson is also quite broad, and an incredible bassist. If you haven't, watch the Live at The Apollo DVD with the Blind Boys of Alabama. His style is often simple but very tasteful, and there's a lot to be said for that. I'm confident that some if not all of the concert would constitute Gospel, if you're up to listening to the bass and playing along, however I've little experience myself, so it's just a friendly word. In other words, when Juan Nelson does a fill, it's a nice one.
