"Toan"??

I remember in the late 90s when the trendy thing to do in Internet chatrooms was to write "kewl" instead of "cool." It never made sense to me because it's the same number of letters, so it's not shorthand or an abbreviation like "brb" when you need to type a message out quickly.

You know, as much as I grumbled about it, I'm glad my mom made me take a touch typing class when I was in high school. I type faster than I write and by default I type using proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Kewl.

I'm still adjusting to "dope" as a synonym for what in the fifties was "hip" and in the sixties was "cool" and in the seventies was "far out." When I was a kid in the fifties "dope" was what guys finished their balsa and paper gasoline powered airplanes with and then sniffed. It really was called "airplane dope," which later became a generic for any drug, sort of like what was done with iconic brands like Coke or Kleenex.

Dope has been drugs, a synonym for cool, something you call an unintelligent person, a nu-metal band...

Interesting how language simultaneously evolves yet also devolves into "brain rot" as technology becomes more prevalent. I should get off of TalkBass and go PlayBass and read some sheet music in one of my lesson books.

I know that's not real.

But it should be!
Well then, just change the knobs on your guitar!

DOPE is details on sighting your rifle based on previous shooting engagements & errors found to be able to apply appropriate correction to offset for windage & downrange elevation.
All with the goal of having clean, consistent kill shots. No animal should suffer needlessly.
