Today I did a stupid thing

Allow me to introduce myself by telling you the stupid thing I did today. I got a used Invalid Link Removed bass and I was planing on send it to a luthier to calibrate it to B tuning, but then I started making the math and realized that doing all that stuff (his work + new strings) is as expensive as selling my bass for the same price I bought it and looking for a 5-string bass (maybe a used t25 or I perhaps should add more money and get a Schecter Stiletto). So, should I tune my 4-string bass to B or should I sell it and get a 5-string? I have to admit I really regret buying a 4-string without making the math first :/

pd: I play stuff in B because I used 7-string guitars, so that's why I need it to be in B tuning.

T24's are shocking basses in the first place. I'd suggest probably re-selling the T24 (maybe for a little more than what you paid for it) and picking up the Schecter Stiletto. They're really amazing sounding basses....a completely different ballgame from anything Washburn can dish out right about now.

On the linked website it says it sells for $720 new.
How can tuning it lower be that expensive? You don't even need a luthier to do that.
Just buy a set of 5 strings, and use the lowest 4, that should be about $50. Maybe you will have to buy a file to adjust the nut, but that should be less than $20.
That's not a thing you should waste too much money on.

Is the Stiletto Deluxe worth it? Because I don't think I can afford the Extreme

Suggested prices in websites are always a couple of hundred dollars off. Anyway, I don't like in the US so prices are different here.

Oh yeah, my bro had a stiletto deluxe and it was a great bass, I would also look into getting something used if goin the internet buying route, since you wont really get to check it out anyway. I'd go with someone trusted like BassNW.com(not affiliated with them btw, just had a gread buying experience). I got my spector legend custom from them, also an amazing 5 string, think they have another one now if u wanted to look into that, should be $500.

Well, I don't live in the US so that site is a no-go :p.

If I go for the Stiletto it'll have to be new. Stores brought Schecter to the country a few years ago (believe it or not) so there's not a lot of used Schecter stuff. I've only seen SOME used guitars, but never a bass :/

Whoops didnt even take a look at ur location, sorry bout that, still cant go wrong with the schecter, I almost bought one myself but the spector caught my eye, and the bassist in my fave band coheed & cambria used to play em so the used $900 new bass for $500 seemed super appealing, and I love it.

No problem. I think I'll resell it and save some money for the Stiletto, whichever model I can afford

The Deluxe is pretty decent. I mean, at the end of the day its an entry level instrument but compared to others in its price range it actually excels in terms of tone and quality. Its no Stiletto Custom or Studio (I thought you were referring to those at first) by any means but its a world better than the Washburn T-24.

In saying that, the Stiletto Extreme is better than both basses so in my honest opinion if you're tossing up between the Deluxe and Extreme, probably better off saving a little extra cash going for the Extreme. They remind me of the Ibanez SR300 basses a little bit.

I have a T24 and I converted it to BEAD tuning in about 15 minutes. Get a circular file from a hardware store and widen your nut slots just enough to hold the larger strings. Slide them back and forth slowly and "wear" the nut slots. It is very easy. After you bang the guitar for a few months it's gonna wear anyways. I think the T24 and 25 are great basses. I wouldn't trade mine for a Stiletto.
