Masonite is still manufactured. You can get sheets of Masonite-branded Masonite at your local big box hardware store.When did they stop making masonite?

Bakelite is not a tone woodIt's not used for bass bodies.
But I guess we could call bakelite a tone brass? (or tone metall)
Leo used it on P bass bridges (for the saddles)until 1954.
