Too much bass BS?

A P/J is certainly a practical choice. I have 8 basses, and not one P/J. Hey, thanks a lot! Now I have GAS for a P/J!

argh, it can be so frustrating reading these forums sometimes. I just started playing bass in december and i am a poor student (like many here) and it can be so frustrating when i see all these basses i go back and forth from one decision to the next. oh i want a stingray or a ric or a headless this and that, i want a warwick blah blah blah.

screw. that.

i found a really cool mexican fender p/j online and i am just going to buy it and be done with all this crap. i figure it has all the variety i could ever want, and replacement parts are abundant as fender is pretty damn ubiquitous. so i could upgrade later if i really wanted to.

I dont know what it is... our double bass brothers dont ever seem to talk about "wow, I have an ebony fretboard, but my life just wont be complete until I get a figured maple top of the exact same bass I have now, and one more string!"

I often wondered if the gas would be so strong here if the first thread category was bassists rather than basses - focus the site a little more towards discussing players, and less about constantly stimulating peoples brain about basses they dont have or need.

But I guess you're done with "all this crap", and will leave us to our ridiculous desires, 'cause you now know better, right?



Seriously, if you found your dream bass already 8 months into playing then more power to you. Good luck with it.

I started on my Peavey Dyna-Bass and a Peavey Combo 300... after YEARS of GAS and endless basses /amps and equipment I just picked up another Combo 300 to go with my Dyna-bass AGAIN ...funny how that works
That said, there is NO WAY I will lose my NV610 and AH100-12 and Warwicks... but you know what I mean

True fact. If I could convert the wasted time I have at work into practice time at home, I'd be a far better player.
