Awesome thread, just discovered it. I don't know if I missed it, but what kind of distortion does Justin use for that rattling, percussive tone? Like on the chorus of ticks & leeches, the intro to jimmy and some of reflection. I was thinking it was the rat, but I'm not sure.

I would bet every piece of my gear that JC's TurboRat has been modded

Anyone that has a Turbo+Boss eq...I suggest you try the settings from the Dunlop video, then you too will know that a plain old classic LM Turbo sounds like TARD (in this application)

I have done the shootout with multiple ProCo's (that means, at the same time and not comparing them 2 or 3 years apart) and my MKI demo video should show that i have done my ProCo "homework"

If anyone has vid/audio of theirs ...I'm all game to have a listen

It worked for me. Oh well, you're probably right. I no longer have my JC fanboy gear, so I have no right to argue it at this point. Therefore, I respectfully bow out of this one.

Does anyone think this has any relation to the "problem 8" track that Blair has been talking about? His comment about not knowing who the bass player was would put that track bang in the middle of time of recording Aenima, and I can hear overtones of 46&2 in that track!

I think "Problem 8" was an April Fool's joke. Not sure, but check the date of that post.

I do too! I do think it sounds like "46&2", but it's still uber cool. I saw them in Charlotte a couple of months ago and they didn't play it, but they did change up a couple of songs ("Sober" being one IIRC).

Awesome show. Really hope the new album comes out soon, but who knows

Thick sounding pickups but with a crisp top end and a filter based preamp.
