Tool tone/FX sticky thread ver. 1

So about that baby wah theory... that's a Boss pedal. Where the heck is a wah pedal for The Pot?!View attachment 3571516

I think it may be a Wah on a trial and one we haven't seen?. From back in the 80's and to the pedals they put out today, there has been a black plastic square, where the power goes in on Boss.(or maybe it is a Boss and JC has great big power supply plugs?)
Interesting
The yellowing silver pedal is my Japanese DD3

If it's a Boss auto filter, probably not the AW3 since that has all-black knobs? And probably not the FT2 since that was MIJ so i think had a different power jack than shown earlier. So maybe the AW2?

Good catch on the top of the knobs....
It does look like he has big barrel plugs and the Jpn models had a slight offset on the jack. So it could be disguising the offset in that blurry pic

See how that FT2 jack (MIJ) has the plastic extend to the bottom of the pedal? Most MIT Boss pedals have a plastic jack piece that stops before it reaches the bottom and instead is fully surrounded by the metal casing. I think that's what I see in the pic in post #360.

My MIT boss pedal. Not all MIT have the plastic piece you are describing. I have 3 Boss MIT pedals on my board that have this plastic piece.

Yes. I guess I'm not making my point clearly, which is this: no MIJ pedal has the plastic piece surrounded by the metal casing. The change was made after production switched to Taiwan. If the pedal in post #360 has the power jack surrounded by the metal casing, it must be a MIT pedal (if it's a Boss pedal).

I DO have one MIT pedal that does this. Its a light blue label one. But knobs don't have the white tops. Hmmm
